EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I remember you talking about making new archery stands, but in July??? Seem like yesterday, but here we are in October, so... Wowser.
I always had a spare key on the Tracker. I’ve locked myself out of my vehicle exactly twice in my life, but the second time, I got a key safe.
I hated the idea of calling on AAA for THAT!
I don’t think I’d ever heard that, but now, I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. Thanks, ArGee! ;o]
Reminds me of an old Hee Haw song.
Never did watch that show, but I hear it was very funny. I think it was on during the years when I was trying to keep my toddler son and I alive. Or something like that.
4 of the regulars would dress up in longjohns and biballs and hold corn jugs and sing:
Gloom, despair, and agony on me.
Deep dark depression, excessive misery.
If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all.
Gloom, despair, and agony on me.
Yeah, I did the preliminary research and then didn’t pass it on to the Shooting Sports leader. Prices of plumbing bits are up maybe 10%.
Ah. So that’s where the late Igor got it. Thanks. Maybe.
Ah. I’m still waiting for the mail person, but my neck is beginning to ache, so I think I’m going to take my pills and get ready for bed. Life just never does go the way we expect it to.
I may be back later on, as it seems to be the pattern lately. In the meantime, I’ll close this down.
The bros return successfully. I’m thinking about an early night! With maybe another blanket.
Lookit dat little face!!
Good morning. Did you get that early night? And if so, did you sleep well?
I think I finally gave in at 1830 last night, and mostly slept until 0530 when FD had to wake me up with her cheerful greeting. Unngh.
The only thing on the docket for today is pill sorting.
I started to watch a series called, “Sherwood,” and it had a GREAT cast of characters. But in the first 15 minutes, the F-bomb must have been dropped at least 20 times, and that was far too much. I really did want to watch it because of the cast, but they’ll have to clean it up before I can do that. Pretty sad. I know the scriptwriter was trying to be “authentic” (coal mining area in GB) but s/he could have substituted another milder word and the story wouldn’t have lost a thing.
I guess it’s time to start watching movies...
I second-guessed myself, and if I hadn’t, I would have had this in two, today.
I need to stop that!

Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
We had it a little warmer this morning, 1 F above freezing. I guess I’ll take that.
I’m still noodling on the Wordle, or woodling on the Nerdle, or whatever. Maybe it will come to me later.
Yesterday I remembered that if I discovered a U in my word a Q is a possible letter.
Good morning. Yes, I was lightsout before 9:00, and things weren’t bad. Jake showed up at some point, but he wasn’t too annoying.
Vlad just got the Unacceptable Receptacle out for Jake’s vet trip. Jake is currently up in his bed. We’ll see how things go on the transfer.
Sorry about the TV show. I don’t like all the language, either, regardless of its authenticity.
Got it. I had to stare at that 3rd word for a while to figure it out.

It was 30° here when I got up a while ago, but I think it’s up to 31 Fs which was the next supposed jump for the next hour. I think the high will be around 70°. Unngh. Even Hurricane is warmer.
Yeah, ArGee, when I get a U, I always want to fit a Q in, someplace. I’ve also found that the end of the word is not the place for it.
I haven’t known too many cats who like the Unacceptable Receptacles. I think they always associate them with Unacceptable Odors and Proddings.
I hope Jake goes quietly....
Good job, though, staring or not!!
Golly. The crystals in the storm glass are over halfway to the top.
He didn’t. He went wailing.
