EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I’m in the Charlotte ‘burbs. You can have dinner here on November 15 or 20. We have food meals and everything.
Congratulations on your granddaughter and your son’s upcoming graduation.
Congrats, Grandpa!!
Sorry that I can’t help put with any dining recommendations in that neck of the woods...
Hoping that your trip is a good one, and thanks and congrats to #3 Son!!
Good Morning!
Decided to do the Wordle before heading back to bed for my “nap!”
Needed this 3-spot to even out the 3s and 5s at 70 each...

Lucky row two was the key...
Such a pale marmalade!
Good morning.
I hope you slept well. I’m waiting for the water to heat up, as usual.
Another interruption in my sleep last night. PW wife had to send me photos of their kitchen without countertops. Seems FS is the go-to handyman at home as well as in the real world.
Good morning. Rescue kitten! I hope you got the hot water. Nobody’s up here except me and catz.
I’ll give it another few minutes before I go take my shower.
Nobody’s up here except me and the moon.
Funny how a single thing/event/word/person can have such an effect on a guy. I’m glad the moon is here so at least the effects will be felt in a little while.
I didn’t think I was going to pull this one out. The more rows it took, the more unsure I was.

Even the word I use to eliminate letters wasn’t any help, so I had to find yet a third word to eliminate vowels. Unngh.
But I’m done with it for today!
Congratulations!
Enjoy your trip.
Good morning. Happy Friday!
We had a lot of rain yesterday. Temps are on the warm side now. Hopefully it will dry out a little. We get a pretty good “lake” near our building when it rains that much.
I’m back on the 4 train. My 5’s are still 5 points ahead of my 3’s.

I love thrift shopping. Sounds like you did great! I’m not much for shopping overall, but I get a buzz off of a good bargain.
I still remember finding a pair of Yves St. Laurent slacks with the tags still on them for $4 at the thrift store my church ran in Houston. And they fit perfectly.
Way to go on the three! 👍
Thanks! It was hot, for a welcome change.
I need to quit obsessing about certain things, but the CFIDS doesn’t want me to. I need a massive distraction.
Meanwhile, I’m wearing my “It is well with my soul” shirt, and hoping I can write a decent letter to Charlie. It’s harder and harder to write to him, and I don’t know why.
His birthday is next month, and I forget how old he’ll be but I need to try and budget for a gift card for him.
Good morning!
And great job!!
My Fivers have the most wins, then Foursies, then Triplets.
Crazy game.
Happy Friday to all!
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
I am back on that four train.

Good Friday morning!
It was 41° when I got up this morning, but I have no idea what the high will be for today. Rain on Sunday I think, though.
Good job on the Wordle!!
I love thrift shops, too. Hubby HATES that I shop there. I get the old, “We can afford ... blah blah blah ...” He doesn’t get that it’s not really about the money. It’s about the hunt, and the treasures.
Your Wordle looks like mine! LOL!
Good morning! Happy Friday.
I’m going to make an etched pie plate tomorrow, but I sure hope I don’t have to leave early. I’m going to make the Pi symbol on mine because the pan is so small. If I had a bigger one, I’d do “easy as pie.” I hope there is enough activity to keep me distracted.
Exactly!
I remember one Christmas season, my friends and I made an agreement that we’d all buy our gifts for each other at thrift shops that year. It wasn’t about money; we just decided it would be fun. And it was! From choosing them to watching everyone open what they got at our annual party we always had.
I like that. :D
I hope there is enough activity to keep me distracted.
I hope so too and I hope you end up having a lovely time.
