EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Just trying to help!
I would just like a good night’s sleep, although I have to admit that Jake is my fault. He was supposed to be Tom’s cat, but cats make their own decisions.
“I love black cats!”
Me, too. We have Darth-Ann now, and have had two beauties named Homer (RIP).
Although I do love ALL cats, to be honest.
Also, re the Halloween thing, I have heard, but am not sure if it’s true, that in October some shelters pull their black cats from being adopted during that time. That’s to protect them from the cult people.
If they did that, I would thank them for it. I don’t think I would want to put a black cat up for adoption this time of year, so maybe I’ll wait a month.
A cat has been on my agenda for several months, now, there are days when I really want one and days when I think I can wait a bit! I’ll get one, eventually!
A blessed Lord’s Day to all.
I seem to have entered a five-warp.

Cute name for a black kitty!
“Darth-Ann…
Cute name for a black kitty!”
“He” was feral and we fed “him” on our screen porch for a year and we named him Darth. Then “he” showed up nursing three kittens. We re-named him/her. Did TNR on the kittens and brought them inside and tamed them.
Four years later we started to think about moving out of the rural area but worried that feral Darth-Ann wouldn’t be fed by new owners. So we did TNR on her and brought her inside. Sweet kitty now, but it took a few years to tame her. Still can’t pick her up, though.
Good morning! Happy Sabbath to you!
Good job! You worked hard and I see where the word was elusive. I HATE when I’m down to the last two or three lines and I have more than two or three words to choose from!
Did you have a good day with your friend, yesterday? Did you get any good books? ;o]
Thank you for saving all of those kitties! 😻
I’m glad your cat situation worked out so well!
Yes, we had a nice lunch and caught up, thanks for asking.
And I bought three books. “Again Rachel” by Marian Keyes who’s such a fun author to read. She writes great characters and has a wry sense of humor. I got “Jawbone” by Monica Ojeda which I’ll start now since it’s my book club assignment this month and we really *do* discuss the book. And Delia Owens’ “Where the Crawdads Sing,” because a friend recommended it. We recommend books to each other all the time.
How are you doing today after your walk yesterday?
I love my kitties. Had eight at one time, but now we’re down to three. Losing one is so painful.
Baron Biden von Munchausen...
Good morning.
I apologize for not getting back to you after church yesterday.
The books sound interesting. I keep seeing “Where the Crawdads Sing” pop up on my used book ads, but I’ve never been curious enough to actually buy it. Please give me a review when you’ve finished it. It may be incentive!
It will be later today (it’s still VERY early) or maybe even tomorrow before I know if the walk was “good” or not. So far, it seems to be OK, and that’s encouraging.
A friend has invited me to see “Top Gun: Maverick” at her place tomorrow, and I told her I would walk over. It’s just a couple of blocks, so it should be OK. If no symptoms show up today, the walk tomorrow will be a good test. I may finally be getting back to “normal.”
Kitteh gonna RAWR dat fing!
Good morning.
I hope you had a good night, and that there were no cats or other sleep deterrents.
I posted today’s Wordle effort and come to find out, I didn’t, really. So I have to do it again! No brains, just a sense of humor.
Good morning, Ganag!
Here’s today’s effort. I actually posted it before I went to wash clothes, but I didn’t really post it after all.

The second word was just to eliminate letters, and the third word was just a random choice. Go figger.
Good morning. You did very well. The moonlight walk was very nice. Just as we came out of the trees onto the lake dam, the moon came up like a great big orange. It was in and out of clouds a little, but mostly there was plenty of light, and we could see it all the way home (depending on direction) too.
I have a PT appointment at 7:00 this morning, so I need to leave the house by 6:30.
I’m glad the moonlight walk was nice. I thought of you this morning when I stepped out to do the laundry and saw the moon!
Right now, I’m going to go have a short (two-hour!) nap, and then I’ll be back to start my day! See ya!
The moon was still out at 6:30 when I left for the physical therapist. There was less traffic than when I go to later appointments.
