EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

w00t!
{{{hugs}}} just because.
Found a silver coin for sale in St Paul’s (Cathedral crypt contains a cafe and a shop) with the four pictures used over the years by the royal mint of HMQ on the coinage. It had some sentimental claptrap on the back....bought a couple. Viva la merchandise!
Today , warm and over cast with occasional dampness from above.
Saw a pair of Jays feeding in the university parks. Hunting for acorns in the long grass.
The Green Parrots are still in residence, they return to London when the first frost hits.
1 K !
Woot!
Just something unseemly about an espresso machine in the miserychords.
However if you have a “ retrochoir “..... readymade cafe area.

First -000 of the thread.
Thanks!
Thank you, Sir!
Yes, it is! Thanks!
I just watched a two-hour documentary on a dig outside Saqqara, Egypt, and it was fascinating! They found over 250 coffins with mostly women, evidently underscoring how difficult bearing children was in the New Kingdom.
They found some beautiful (?) mummies, wrapped tightly in their linen bandages, and looking like something straight out of a seamstress’ shop. It was fascinating! (Mr. Hawass was at front and center of the show, of course.) They use X-ray machines to find out what the sex of the occupants are now, so they don’t have to disturb the remains. How cool is that?!
Anyway, it kept me occupied until the federales left. I was, indeed, spared!!
Excellent use of time. I had a nap. The casserole is almost done.
My hands are hurting and that usually means it’s time for me to give up. Alternatively, it means we’re in for some wet weather. The barometer is in agreement. Unngh.
I might think about making some corn chowder tomorrow. Or I may forget about it entirely!
For now, I’m done for the day. It wasn’t a stressful day, as my days go, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings besides my groceries.
Have a good night! I’m glad you had a nap!
I like corn chowder. Meanwhile, eventually, we’ll have chicken casserole here.
A wise one, for sure...
“so, Immagunna ask you again: what is the name of the band on the stage first? Who?”
Chicken casserole.
Thanks for the reminder.
Need to get some curry powder tomorrow.
Yes.....yeeeess.
My chicken casserole had tomato sauce with serrano peppers, chili powder, and cumin.
Yay!
Iknowhuh?
;o])
What a sweet cali!
Good morning. Did you sleep well? No cats or yelling or kicking? I hope.
Today is going to be pill sorting day, but before and after that is the great Nothing!
*sigh*
