It was just announced that Kathy Hochul has an amendment to New York's Senate Bill 536 to bring the name of Manhattan into the new era of wokeness. It will sense forth be known simply as Hattan, so that the woke generation won't feel endangered by the "Man" reference.

My wife had a friend (who thank God is gone) who did not want to be referred to as a “woman” - because, yes, “man” was in that word. She was “female”.
I couldn’t stand her for a couple other dozen reasons.

Safe to assume “gunman” will continue to be given a ‘stet’ editor’s markup, though.

“I know this is a joke but some people take this sort of thing seriously.”
A lady in our quilting group, a retired NLRA attorney, would get all hot and bothered if I said “man hours”. She would correct me and announce, “HUMAN hours”. Major eye rolling by everyone else, all conservatives. I made a point of saying it often.

I hope the bill succeeds.
This level of stupidity should get recorded in history books so that future generations can hopefully not repeat it.

Aint that a kick in the balls!
Can't say that. It's unfair to women who don't have b@lls.
(Except certain "women" athletes.)

It cost the city of Boulder, Colorado a whole lot of money when they changed “Manhole Covers” to “Utility Covers”.
But the People’s Republic of Boulder works that way.
