An elite all-girls school in Nashville has paused implementation of a policy allowing applications from anyone who identifies as female after backlash from the community.
Last week, in an email to parents, Harpeth Hall School announced a new "Gender Diversity Philosophy," explaining a new admissions policy that would allow "any student who identifies as a girl" to apply to the school.
"We recognize that this philosophy elicited strong reactions of support and opposition beyond our expectations," the school said in an email to the community obtained by Fox News Digital. "We care deeply about your feedback and we have heard you."
"Based on the response from our school and community, the Harpeth Hall Board of Trustees is choosing to pause the adoption of the philosophy in order to engage a wider audience in continued discussion," the letter continued.
The letter added that the school does not want to make changes to its longstanding admission practices and continues to "serve girls and young women."
Other all-girls institutions have taken similar steps, allowing biological males who identify as female to apply to the school.
In 2016, Barnard College, an all-women’s college in New York City, implemented a policy to "consider for admission those applicants who consistently live and identify as women, regardless of the gender assigned to them at birth." The decision made Barnard the last of the traditional Seven Sisters colleges to update their admissions policies.

Bonus: there’s even BINGO NIGHTS on Saturdays to help cut costs and bring in extra funds. It’s a church-school so these things happen every end of the month..
So parents are MANDATED to man the food booths, tables, bingo cards etc. I remember my Mom was teamed with another mom of my classmate, and that same mom is on the board of directors for Dell. They were both mowing the lawn of the church on Saturday, then my Dad that night, was calling bingo while my other classmate’s dad who owns the biggest Chevy dealership in the city was spinning the bingo wheel.

No, I moved here 08’ after my series got greenlit. The school is “up north”. I still remember Christian Studies class, and the lesson was clearly that God rested on the 7th day after creation. Then next class was SCIENCE and it was the Big bang theory. XD

I suspect that the parents of over 95% of the students enrolled for this fall, contacted them and said “This was not in the contract. I’m an attorney [judge, state representative, etc.] and I’ll be withdrawing my daughter and suing you for breach of contract. Also, the yearly donation my wife donates to your institution, due to the education received and enjoyment of her time there, has just been canceled”.
When it comes down to it, Money Talks or It Walks!
The far left has slowly marched through every institution leaving a trail to contaminate those places. Just think of a blob sucking in everything around it. While the GOP was telling us to calm down and prepare our sons for the next bloody war on foreign lands, and to just ignore the culture war, they have yielded everything to the left. Meanwhile, our schools, churches, museums, libraries, charity organizations etc. have all been invaded and conquered.
Good question. But I haven’t heard any feminist groups speak out against this insanity that harms women. Also, the feminists have not spoken out, at least as far as I can tell, about the invasion across the border & immigrants from countries that promote extreme chauvinistic views such as burkas and honor killings.
Please ‘splain how an ALL GIRLS school can have a Gender Diversity Philosophy? I’ll bet you my favorite prayer rug that not one of the staff of the school sees the conflict.
Why do people give in to “backlash”? How about adopting a firm policy of “mind your own business”. You know, gold old backbone.
But transwomen would be great for the football team, the Harpeth Hall Harpies.
So. this all-girl school will have only girls and allow in mentally ill boys? Then, the girls who fall for these mentally ill boys will think they’re lesbians? Everyone’s going to be mentally ill.
“Backlash” = sane parents making immediate plans to take their daughters and their money elsewhere. Maybe lots of fake women will make up the loss, Harpeth.
They are working on all branches of the military now too.
