Men are lonelier than ever as they struggle to meet the higher dating standards of modern women, according to a psychologist.

American psychologist Greg Matos wrote in a recent Psychology Today article that the current state of young and middle-aged men's love lives shows they need to 'address a skills deficit'.

He said: 'I hear recurring dating themes from women between the ages of 25 and 45: They prefer men who are emotionally available, good communicators, and share similar values'.

The bad-boy bums are not going to marry them anyway.

The single moms want the good guys for husbands. The ones they scorned and spurned when they were partying with the bad boys. But increasing numbers of good guys want nothing to do with raising another man’s spawn, especially since family courts would likely hit them for child support upon breakup (since the bum likely has no assets to garnish anyway), and are looking for young women without baggage.

One of the neighbor high school/college age girls is apparently in the single mom bad boy phase. A couple years ago I noticed she had a habit of bringing home a boyfriend during the day while her parents were out. Now lately I see her putting a baby into a car seat. Baby daddy nowhere in sight. Some guys like it. That observation doesn’t refute the fact marriage exists to benefit women.

Look at a womam’s single lifestyle before marriage and after. If it didn’t, way less than over 90% of women would get alimomy. Women do not marry down.

You can almost always spot a single gal by simply looking at what she drives. If its the smallest cheapest car and likely also not maintained well, single. Minivn, SUV, truck, married. Guy finances her vehicle and she gets one she could never afford on her own. Same with living conditions. Goes from sharing an apartment with roomates and a crammed, junked up room, to her own house.

Chads don’t get married either, but for different reasons.

Also before anyone gets triggered, the terms used above are group generalizations meant to give a broad fast idea of the type of person that would fall into such a category, its not hard and fast, and people may not always be the same, or whatever.

He really was.

I was fine until I reached my 20's and did too much MJ and screwed up my mind. I ended up this groveling young guy who needed a nurse maid for a wife.

It's what I got but 20 years later, I climbed out of the hole I was in and embraced health and wholeness, but my wife didn't want emotional authenticity - just to play house and hold onto her her millions of grudges against me (like her mother was with her dad - a generational curse).

Finally circumstance were such that I actually HAD to move out for an Assistant District Attorney job in New Mexico.

We've been separated ever since. Much better for me. Paul says if you're married and separated from a believer (she's a Christian) don't divorce her and don't marry another.

So it looks like celibacy for me and it's OK. I have so much more peace and serenity now and Jesus' moment-to-moment presence is so real now for me.

"It is good for a man not to touch a woman" runs through my heart a lot these days. We'll see where things end up, but if I ended up like Paul, I can't imagine any better way to end up. I believe Paul has received great eternal rewards in Heaven and I am looking to also "fight the good fight" until I finish my course that "henceforth there is an indestructible crown" waiting for me.

Having a place near Jesus, Papa (the Father), and Sarayu (the Holy Spirit) is something I wish above all else. In high school me and my buddies would meet on the weekends at our Friend Steve Freeze's house at all hours. It was called Freeze's Diner. I loved it. We'd shoot the sh#t until who knows how late. Loved it. I look for the same fellowship with God's family forever. Starting now. Cool stuff.

Don't know why I'm going on and on here, but did you see the movie, "The Shack"? I read the book but never saw the movie.

Others, it starts in their forties and they start to develop the desire to have a progeny.
