Again, it was the main supply line and I had to work the next day. Wasn’t willing to leave my wife and kids without water.
The store is full of workers all night long and the lights are on.
The high costs of utilities will cause many businesses to adjust practices. You ain’t seen nothing yet!
Duct tape is non perishable. But some in advance. :)
I think that era is done for most shops.
Can’t staff day shift, let alone nights
1950s here we come...banks open till 3pm, (except Fridays), most stores closed on Sundays, not a lot of variety in products, more homemade clothing, limited fast food and restaurants, etc.
me neither
I have not shopped at a Walmart since before March 2020
they were the first national store to become mask Nazis
Yes, I used to have a very erratic schedule - still do, sometimes - it was very handy to be able to drop in Walmart in the wee hours. Quiet too. Peaceful, even. Weirdo distribution does not seem to depend much on time of day for us. :-)
However, now I find that if I go in in the morning, stockers are everywhere, with many shelves still empty, and in the late afternoon / evening there are few stockers but even more spots are bare. I suppose this varies with delivery schedules (may vary at different stores?)
I also suppose there’s a “stocked” sweet spot (time), maybe around lunch time, but, I’m almost never near WM with time to go in around lunch time.
Wal Mart sucks.
For a long time, I took care of my kids during the day and worked late nights. I shopped for groceries in the wee hours of the morning after my shift ended. But, even when I wasn't working, I preferred to avoid the crowds by shopping late at night.
I was a night auditor for a hotel as an undergraduate. I did the 10:30-6:30 shift for years. On my days off, I stayed up all night. Shopping when you don’t have to stand in line is nice.
MANY businesses used Covid as an excuse to cut benefits and services. It’s been ticking me off for years.
When you can get foxy tape to seal a pressurized supply line give me a call
Foxy = duct…somehow
every time I go.. I look around and can’t believe these people’s votes count the same as mine.
I worked 3rd shift when I was young, too. Many night owls prefer that shift.
I grew up near Flint MI and when GM was booming everything was 24/7. My great uncle was a salesman at East side Buick on night shift and made tons of money.
The point was them being 24/7 and changing to having hours when they are closed post covid.
I wish someone would stock the shelves at my local supermarket. They must have a different crew pulling stock from the back room than stocks the shelves, so they clog all the aisles with pallets of stock starting around 8pm and no one within a mile of it actually putting any of it on the shelf. Customers will cut their own product out and if it happens to be at the bottom of the pallet they'll just scatter everything to get to it. Maybe a few hours later the stocker will deal with the mess and actually shelve it.
