I joined this Forum some 22 years ago in my 20's as a young conservative/libertarian. Now around a half century old. Truly hope some young folks will carry the torch.
I’m 53 and I joined in my 20s around the time when the Clintons left the White House and took all the furniture. “Oh Mary!” You guys made me laugh so hard. This was my first forum and I barely had my first email account and barely knew how to click on the blue hyperlinks. Long ago. But I feel young here at 53. And very female too 😀. Highlights of FR have been Election 2000 (following the FL recount and legal battles) and exposing Dan Rather. And 9-11, when the 3rd poster after the second plan hit correctly stated simply: “Osama Bin Ladin.”
I think the younger set are on War Room and Twitter etc: I’m there too.
I think most who post videos and many in the Trust the Plan threads are young. I’m in my mid 50s but have a feeling that’s young for this place. Sadly, I think it’s going to slowly shrink as people die off. Most younger people just don’t go for this mid/late 90s web design and functionality.
I’m 59.6.
That’s encouraging.
I’m young. I’m 64 years old. I would venture to guess that I am younger than the average Freeper.
We shouldn't change. But we're a dinosaur. At the same time that's a good thing. We are not really on anybody's radar.
I think 72 is Free Republic’s 18.
I am of similar age and agree - a lot of grins from this forum!
I’m under 0x40 in hexadecimal. I first came upon FreeRepublic in the mid 1990s but didn’t join until many years later.
I’m far under 62, closer to 39. (10 bonus points to the actual old timers that came from that generation and get this inside joke.)
“Hi! Did you leave the inner bio sanctuaries of your beloved, genetically linked birthing mother before or after 1977?
1977- First Apple 2 computers went on sale w/ 2 floppy disk drives.
- Elvis Presley dies at age 42
-Alaskan Oil Pipeline completed.
-Star Wars opens in cinemas
-TV Mini Series ‘Roots” is aired
-Atari launched the 2600 gaming system
If none of this rings any bells, you may be 45 y/o or younger = “Young” by many standards.
Agree with your comment to Sam

You must be a grup like me, because none of the onlies would ever use the word "ilk."

Honestly, nothing is forever. Hopefully, the next generation will still find a way. It doesn't have to be here on FR.
The young have no history background since it is no longer taught. Most importantly, they do not have any knowledge of the history of communism nor the American Revolution or the Civil war.
Like one Freeper commented, all their knowledge comes from Tik Tok. This is on purpose also
My first [home] PC showed up in 1992.
I participated in no shortage of microprocessor “fun at work” since 1986.
Can't imagine why they're not flocking here.
Try reading some articles from these young people. https://unherd.com/
Warning; It's long form with lots of long sentences and references a lot of history.
Me!
