Anne Heche is 'stable' after her Mini exploded when she smashed it into a house in Los Angeles, her ex-boyfriend Thomas Jane has told DailyMail.com.
The 53-year-old actress is 'expected to pull through' but remains intubated in hospital following the horror crash in Mar Vista on Friday morning, he said.
Jane, 53, also paid an emotional tribute to her, saying despite the fact they are no longer together he offers her his 'thoughts and prayers' and credited her 'one of the true talents of her generation'.
It comes after Heche pranged her Mini Clubman on a block of garages around 11am, before speeding off at up to 90mph and plowing straight through a house.
The actress, who also dated Ellen DeGeneres, was spotted on doorbell footage hammering down a residential street before she took out a hedge, slammed through building and her car exploded on impact.
She is understood to have battled scorching heat in the burning vehicle for up to 30 minutes before 59 firefighters arrived to drag her to safety.
Aerial footage also showed her bursting through the straps in a white bag before writhing in pain on a stretcher as she was bundled into an ambulance and rushed to a local ICU.
A picture taken before her first crash also showed Heche with what appeared to be a bottle of vodka in the cup holder of her Mini ahead of the horrific second smash.

I agree. My first thought was for the homeowner and hoping they have really good insurance. I feel for them and sending up prayers that they can get their home repaired quickly.
According to LAFD, they had 59 personnel on scene.
The two truck companies in the pics alone account for 10.
We only see what’s on the alpha side, (2 trucks, 3 engines, 1 HR, 1 paramedic), we don’t see the other units that are probably in the alleyway on the charlie side, and what’s off screen.

That was placed on it after the fact due to the structure being compromised in the crash and ensuing fire.

Probably smouldered for most of that time before actually catching fire.

Almost enough to make me wish the firefighters had not been in time. Maybe she can get some mental health treatment while recovering from her burns.
It was red ticketed AFTER the crash and fire. The homeowners were inside when it happened.

One day at work, we came across a car that was just starting to burn, we dumped 50 pounds of Purple K, another 30 or so pounds of ABC dry chem, and 2 5gallon water coolers and all it did was keep the fire in check long enough for the FD to arrive to put it out.
The vehicles owner was able to salvage all her personal belongings from the vehicle after the fact.
That’s roughly 15 engine companies. Nope, not buying it.
Neither genes or time have been kind to that woman.
Just look at how many lives were affected, and how many taxpayer $$$ spent, to rescue one horribly reckless and irresponsible person. Wonder if she will serve any time for this, or have to repay the city in some fashion, ever?

Maybe if it was a high rise, or a commercial building or mass casualty, but not one patient and car fire/house fire.
True, but they tend to be creatures of opportunity, and it could start out as no big deal, maybe get a few bucks... but once it was clear that she was out of control, it becomes a big story, you know? And they are truly vultures. I used to live in West Hollywood. I respected gang members more than paparazzi. They're just scum.

Look at the car, the gas tank did not explode.
The engine being damaged and hot and with oil and some gas in it, caught fire and burned. Fuel pumps shut off in crashes, so no additional fuel is pumped to the engine.
