A horrific car crash in Los Angeles, California, left six people dead and sent eight people, including the driver, to the hospital.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, a black Mercedes-Benz speeding down South La Brea Avenue, going at least 50 mph, ran a red light at Slauson Avenue and crashed into several cars. Some of the cars burst into flames and slammed into a gas station sign on the corner.

The crash was caught on a CCTV camera. WARNING: The video is graphic.

The California Highway Patrol said Friday that Nicole Lorraine Linton, who suffered minor injuries in the collision, was detained on suspicion of vehicular homicide with gross negligence. Charges are expected to be filed with prosecutors.

The coroner’s office on Friday identified one of the victims as Asheri Ryan, a 23-year-old pregnant woman from Los Angeles. Her unborn child was listed in the online coroner’s records as “Baby Boy Ryan”.

Two other women and a man as well as a boy died, but their names were not made public on Friday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, shortly after 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a Mercedes-Benz sedan drove six cars near a gas station in unincorporated Windsor Hills, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of Downtown LA. involved causing the accident."

The video shows Mercedes driving through an intersection, hitting at least two cars that burst into flames and are sent onto a sidewalk that was curving against a gas station corner sign . Flames blew up a car. One vehicle was half damaged.

CHP officer Franco Pepi said the car was speeding at least 50 mph (80 kph) as it was passing through a crowded intersection. Eight people, including Linton, were taken to the hospital.

It was not immediately clear if Linton, 37, had a lawyer who could comment on her behalf."

What I found really bizarre about that video was how the other drivers on the road just kept on going like this was perfectly normal. I guess they had places to be.
