Aha, maybe that's why my dermatologist, out of the blue, suggested I start a two week course of using a corrosive cream on the back of my hands for precancerous skin problems. I said OK and bought the stuff, but then decided not to use it. That decision was based on a seemingly thin testing record the creme's packaging told of, and also because the name of the stuff is similar to a very dangerous acid that can cause bones to soften.
She may have assumed I had recently become more at risk due to current events, and that I would be part of the epidemic you related. Fortunately, that's not the case.

Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) readily reacts with Calcium (Ca).
I got lucky this time. I go every six months and I usually come out looking like I walked into a hornets nest from all the pre-cancer freezing she has to do. She freezes mine off. I have never used a topical for pre-cancers. I didn’t have any this time. All I had was the sun rash. In the last three years I have had two cancers removed from my face and a pre-melanoma removed from the back of my lower leg.
I suspect she knows why there is an epidemic of eczema and other skin issues but didn’t say. She’s the one that told me “You can take that silly mask off while back here if you want to” the last time I was there.
A solution of equal parts magnesium chloride and DMSO will do the trick.
