That ain't nicotinamide. There is only one real niacin. Extended release is NOT nicotinamide.
They alter the nicotinamide molecule, which is naturally occurring, so they can sell it as a “new” drug.
Niaspan. Established name: niacin extended-release tablets. Route of administration: ORAL (C38288). Active ingredients (moiety): niacin (nicotinic acid).

“Niacin extended-release (ER), a recent-
ly introduced intermediate-release niacin
formulation, has a unique delivery system
that allows drug absorption over 8 to 12
hours. This formulation was developed in
an attempt to achieve the lipid-lowering
efficacy of niacin IR with a reduced inci-
dence of flushing and to minimize the
hepatotoxicity seen with longer-acting for-
mulations. Niacin ER is FDA approved for
the treatment of dyslipidemia and is avail-
able by prescription only. 9”

Again, the label for the niacin product contains the liver warning and testing label. Be aware.
So, are you saying that niacinamide is not absorbed into the system and simply passes through, unmetabolized?
Or, is it metabolized into something either un-useable or unhealthy?
My search sources say that nicotinamide is metabolized \into\ niacinamide before up-take.
Just trying to get clarification.
