DeSantis is an absolute nightmare for them because not only is he wicked smart, but he communicates conservative ideas extraordinarily well. What is unusual about him is that he can express those ideas in a way that is very accessible for most people, while also being able to debate them on an intellectual level with the left. And he just does not gaffe, or does he leave himself open to being easily mischaracterized or misrepresented. He's very precise.
Whenever he chooses to run, whether it be in 2024, 2028, or after that, he's going to give the left absolute fits.

And I’m also sick of the descendants of African slaves (and many others who merely share a similar skin color but whose ancestors were never slaves) being treated as if they’re made of glass. Slavery existed in the distant past…got it. Yep, white southerners enslaved black Africans for a time. But the British also enslaved about 300,000 whites at that time as well, and over 4,000 free wealthy blacks (yes, those did exist in “racist” America) were slave OWNERS themselves! Throughout past history, white Europeans and some Americans enslaved black Africans, but so have black Africans enslaved other black Africans, American Indians enslaved other American Indians from rival tribes, Muslim Africans enslaved (and still are today) black Africans, Muslims kidnapped and enslaved white Europeans, the Chinese today are enslaving Muslim Yuigurs, and of course the Jews were enslaved by the Egyptians.
Notice one difference? White European societies ENDED slavery long ago, while Muslims and the Chinese are still at it today. If black Americans really cared about slavery, and not just as a political weapon, they’d be over in the Sudan or in Xinjiang province of China fighting to end slavery that is occurring RIGHT NOW, instead of whining about Africans picking cotton in the south two or three hundred years ago. Until they do that, their attempts to use a practice none of them have personally experienced to excuse their own failings in life should be ignored.
America and Britain were not unique for practicing slavery; it was a common practice throughout human history. The way in which they were unique is that those societies ENDED slavery. The cynical Leftist political opportunists and American blacks blinded by the lies of the race hustlers should be celebrating America, not trashing it.
