Bears have mauled and eaten a wealthy couple and a pilot after their helicopter crashed in the Russian wilderness.
The helicopter was flown by well-known Russian biathlete Igor Malinovsky, with business people Zoya Kaygorodova and Sergey Kolesnyak on board.
On July 16, the helicopter lost communication due to bad weather, Euro Weekly News reported. The next day, the helicopter wreckage was discovered by rescuers in Kamchatka. Three hours later, remains of the trio were found near the Semyachkov Pass, just 13 kilometers from the Uzon volcano.
It is believed the corpses were dragged away, mauled and eaten by wild bears that populate the region.
Kamchatka has one of the highest densities of brown bears on the earth. An estimated 10,000 to 14,000 bears live in the Peninsula, which is about the size of California.
Bears do not usually seek out humans to eat. They usually eat plants, insects, fish, and other smaller animals. Kamchatka brown bears have access to richer food sources such as salmon, pine nuts and berries. However, bears are opportunistic hunters, meaning they take advantage of food that is readily available to them. Grizzly bears in particular, will often scavenge the remains of prey that is already dead.
Kamchatka brown bears are one of the largest bears in the world. Males can reach a weight of 1,500 pounds.
The bears may have sifted through the helicopter remains to get to the passengers, the Daily Star reported.
The couple were reportedly tourists to the area, and had been exploring the peninsula. It is unclear whether the passengers were dead before being dragged off by the predators. Bears rarely attack humans unless provoked or threatened in some way.
A criminal investigation has been launched into the crash and the deaths of the passengers, NTV reported.

Article says, “It is unclear whether the passengers were dead before being dragged off by the predators.”
And here I saw the headline and thought it was some sort of allegory for investors.
Maybe reports that the Ukrainians are providing Stinger missiles to bears inside Russia are true.
Three more dead Ruskies. Go Bears!
Ask Kobe Bryant ‘bout flying in bad weather.
Home delivered meal...Did the best call Door Dash or UberEats?
Black Bears regularly come into my berry patches, eat all the berries, fall asleep there, and leave in the morning.
Point made........
I think I saw this movie with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. It didn’t end well for Alec.
It is the doorway to Asia.
According to some bleeding hearts on here who were distraught about a dude being dragged into a Florida golf course pond and eaten by an alligator, the Russkies should now proceed to kill every bear on the Kamchatka Peninsula!
That is because there are few humans in Kamchatka.

Exactly what I was thinking the minute I read that.
Apparently, they also poop in the woods. You mean they don’t poop in their bathroom and wipe with Charmin? I bought Charmin because I thought they endorsed it...🤓 <=== Need that to TELL LIBERALS I know they don’t.
At least they had passed before being eaten.

Says who?
Harris as PRESIDENT? No thanks...
I’d follow that bear around and pick out the diamonds.
[I knew two men in SE Alaska who were attacked by brown bears. One survived, one did not. There was nothing funny about either incident, and I hope these people were already deceased before the bears showed up.]
“Too bad it wasn’t Putin.”
Agree, his replacement would have disposed of Ukraine in under a month.
“So, Putin lives in your head rent free. Obviously, he is effective.”
Actually, it’s the media putting the hate into his head, just as they did with Democrats regarding Trump (notice the similarities there, kind of the same tone in their comments?).
Also good to know they were “wild bears”. That would be to distinguish them from the hundreds to “tame” bears in this utterly remote part of Russia. LOL.
