TOP STATES FOR BUSINESS: These 10 states are America’s worst places to live in 2022
CNBC ^ | July 14, 2022 | Scott Cohn

Posted on 07/16/2022 4:31:10 PM PDT by Political Junkie Too

In this era of severe worker shortages and unprecedented mobility, employees are demanding great quality of life in the state where they work.

Half of business executives surveyed agree it is important to do business in states with inclusive laws.

CNBC’s annual America’s Top State for Business study considers multiple measures of the quality of life, health and inclusion.

[snip]

Our Life, Health and Inclusion category considers factors such as crime rates, environmental quality, and health care. For the first time in 2022, we also consider the availability of childcare, which the U.S. Chamber of Commerce found is a major obstacle for parents seeking to reenter the workforce.

We also consider inclusiveness of state laws in areas like protections against discrimination and voting rights. That’s not politics, it’s business.

CNBC's worst states to live in:

10. Nevada
9. Tennessee
8. Indiana
7. New Mexico
6. Louisiana
5. Missouri
4. South Carolina
3. Oklahoma
2. Texas
1. Arizona

You pretty much nailed it. I hope Texas stays near the bottom of the list. Too many people moving here already. Land and houses are sky high.

A friend of ours has a son who was a police officer in Albuquerque. He said it was horrible and has since moved north of Dallas. He says it is like paradise.

“Half of business executives surveyed agree it is important to do business in states with inclusive laws.”

Which means have say it’s not important.

The migration damage must be so severe that CNBC was ordered to put out such BS propaganda.

In the article, for Texas they say:

Skilled workers are still flocking to Texas despite longstanding quality of life issues. According to Census data, the state ranks No. 3 for net migration of college educated workers behind Florida and Washington. But when they arrive, they are finding limited childcare options, a stressed health care system with the highest rate of uninsured, new curbs on voting rights, and few protections against discrimination.
When they mention "net migration of college educated workers behind Florida and Washington," they're really talking about college graduates going to work for Disney, Microsoft, and Exxon.

For the rest of the posters to the thread:

Sorry I didn't participate in replying, I had commitments this evening.

I agree with what everyone has said. This article was clearly meant to be liberal psyops agitprop, designed to counter the flight from blue states.

Telling is that neither California nor Florida were on either list. This tells me that this article was meant to be a proxy war between Newsom and DeSantis. Texas is the proxy for Florida, and Washington/Oregon is the proxy for California. The measures are all liberal social justice causes and radical leftist agendas.

Summed up. It’s Propaganda and Lies. The same crap that is on TV 24/7.

Not a word of truth exists in the media today.

We are having a child care issue here, due to many not recovering from the shutdowns. We are addressing the issue. Health care is robust. The only reason we have “uninsured” is because we have so many illegal aliens. They don’t need to be insured to get treated. Basically, they get free health care. Voting rights? We aren’t that “restrictive” so that’s a laugh. Discrimination protects? We have an entire agency, one of the biggest in the USA (at state level) that handles issues before they even get to the fed’s eeoc. CNBC is not only propaganda, but clueless.
