In this era of severe worker shortages and unprecedented mobility, employees are demanding great quality of life in the state where they work.
Half of business executives surveyed agree it is important to do business in states with inclusive laws.
CNBC’s annual America’s Top State for Business study considers multiple measures of the quality of life, health and inclusion.
[snip]
Our Life, Health and Inclusion category considers factors such as crime rates, environmental quality, and health care. For the first time in 2022, we also consider the availability of childcare, which the U.S. Chamber of Commerce found is a major obstacle for parents seeking to reenter the workforce.
We also consider inclusiveness of state laws in areas like protections against discrimination and voting rights. That’s not politics, it’s business.
CNBC's worst states to live in:
10. Nevada
9. Tennessee
8. Indiana
7. New Mexico
6. Louisiana
5. Missouri
4. South Carolina
3. Oklahoma
2. Texas
1. Arizona
Keep them away from us.
Purely coincidental.
bunch of racists, most of the bad states have high minority populations, while the “good” states on that list are nearly completely white.
If those states were so bad then why are people crawling over people practically to get into such “bad” states, and fleeing the supposedly “good ones”
This is kind of like the National Education Association (NEA) voters guide. It tells us exactly what to do the OPPOSITE of what they recommend.
Coincidence?
that list you just posted looks like I made it :) far better than the BS one in the article
Of their top ten, only one could be considered diverse/inclusive, the top 2 (VT-ME) have LOTS of YPEPO, as does NH sandwiched between them.
Maricopa County (where Phoenix is located) has been the #1 or #2 fastest-growing county in the U.S. for the past several years.
Complete BS.
NY, CA, and MA are missing and should be at the top of the top ten.
SC bad because of voting rights? What a joke. You show an ID to vote here.
Total BS
And NJ....all due respects to Freepers in NJ.
Meanwhile, NH is among the safest states to live in.
However, someone is out trying to deliberately destroy NH’s safety record. Folks I have seen at the local WM tell me that *immigrants* are being shipped here.
However, NH is a Constitutional carry state. The gun friendly climate will help keep things in check.
.
Vermont?
They’re going to cone for your wallet, and everything else. In an attempt to prove their Hippie Commune beliefs, they’re going to bankrupt people.
New Mexico
I knew quite a number of peeps that worked in NM, and the few remaining are desperate to get out. Crime, Crime, Crime, and I’m sure water shortages are in the long term equation. NM is headed in the wrong direction.
No, the author is right, stay out of my state you coastal liberals, you will do better where you are.
It appears they believe if the state does not allow mail-in votes they are bad on voting rights. This is more than funny - it’s hilarious.
New Mexico is a great place to live if you are over 65. Just be sure to carry an arsenal where you live along with where ever you go.
Obviously …. They consider voting security a liability and wokeness a benefit. I guess it all about the authors of this trash that matters.
