Trump Bashes Elon Musk on Truth Social: ‘He’d Be Worthless’ Without Government Subsidies
Breitbart ^ | 12July | Bois

Former President Donald Trump continued his attacks against billionaire Elon Musk from his platform Truth Social on Tuesday, saying he’d be “worthless” without government subsidies.

Recalling the billionaire’s visit to the White House during his presidency, Trump said that Musk wanted government subsidies for many of his projects that offered big promises without delivering many rewards. Trump said:

When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican.

Saying that he has impulse control is one way to put it. I think the fact that he isn’t afraid to hit out against things and people he disagrees with is a good part of what differentiates him and endears him to his supporters.

I’m not so sure this is purely emotional. I he really wanted Musk to get twitter, not for his own personal sake, but for the benefit of those on the right who have been censored so badly, and now he is hoping he can egg Musk into not backing out.

Since Mr. Trump is such a great judge of character, experience and ability to do a job (except for J. Sessions, C. Wray, J. Bolton, A. Scaramuchi (sic), W. Barr, L. Graham etc, etc.) I have to wonder who he would pick to run NASA? Ivanka?

I fail to see any point in insulting Mr. Musk and as far as Elon getting help in the form of government money, so what, at least Mr. Musk hasn’t filed any bankruptcies along the way.

Apparently Mr. Trump feels threatened by Mr. Musk, why I don’t have a clue but I think it is sad.

Tesla has 100k employees now. What have you done?

No, it means I created jobs for 50,000 people directly and, through parts suppliers & supporting professions, ~250,000 people indirectly, thus supporting half a million families. What have you done?— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 10, 2018

This is true. The issue is that after Musk started posting about voting Republican and buying Twitter for "free speech" he became an insta-hero.

Two of the best Twitter trolls of the last decade going at it, might get interesting.

Yup. What does he gain with this rant against Musk? as for subsidies and bailouts, the feds have been doing this for decades and continue to do so.

Trump wasn’t spending much time on it. The issue was he said he doesn’t expect the deal with Twitter to go through. But if you look to the end of his comments, he said maybe it could still go through in some form but right now it’s a rotten deal. This is what everyone was saying.

Then Trump pointed out that he thought Musk was a BS artist because he said he voted for him and then told the media he voted Republican for the first time in Texas 2022.

Musk should have just let it roll off his back and gotten the Twitter deal done and said something like I may like Desantis but I’ll vote for you if Desantis doesn’t run, we want you back to Twitter, we are making changes.

But Musk couldn’t do that. He went on a unhinged rant against Trump on Monday.

But it is disengenous to say Trump started it. Trump was sparing a little. Musk turned it into a fued and made it personal with astroturfed claims about Trump’s age and how Trump is toxic and he should quit and how Desantis could win without evn campaigning. Musk is stupid in politics and should stick to what he knows.

I love how Trump will fight, and I love his policies, I just wish he could learn to be more disciplined when speaking.

I really really like DeSantis, since he seems so much like Trump but much more disciplined. He obviously studied Trump and in many ways is a better version of Trump.

But I will support either for the nomination and hope they don’t run against each other because I am afraid Trump would destroy DeSantis like he destroyed the other contenders in 2016

I remember why I didn’t hire people with closed minds in a dynamic marketplace. Being deaf or blind tends to bind you to what you already think you know, not what might change in an instant before your eyes and ears. The life journey is a series of never-ending decisions. Imagine a pilot flying straight ahead as the weather and magnetic field changes over distance. With out continuous open-minded decision-making destinations and goals and destinations are seldom achieved. In interviews, I led to discussions on what the interviewee believed. Once over the “target” I tried to alter the belief. If the interviewee didn’t alter, it was my thumbs down for hiring someone to help my company from being successful in the future. For voting, I make my final decision at the moment I cast the vote. Because data is changing by the nanosecond today.

he is probably pissed that Musk mentioned he might vote for DeSantis, having Musk bashing Democrats is a good thing. He needs thicker skin.

Trump has never been about thick skin. He's one of the most sensitive and most easily offended public personalities of my lifetime. I can still remember him squabbling viciously on the radio with AJ Benza over some woman they were both trying to date back in the day. But whatever - if he can win the White House in 2024 and get gas prices down, he's got my vote. I don't expect that the border wall will ever be built.

“On top of that, it’s pretty stupid to needlessly make an enemy out of the richest man in the world, who could self fund a political action committee for one of Trump’s opponents with the change in his pocket.”

Nah. They both like to spar. He said Trump should hang it up. Trump called him a BS artist. They are having fun. Neither will lift a finger to hurt the other.

Yes, Musk has used minority owned DOD contractors plus he gets Govt. money like his Ukraine deal. I despise these minorities getting set asides. My BIL is a former ADA Captain and PHD in Eng. MGMT. Not even a disabled Vet owned business can compete with Hispanics, or any minority. Musk is not USA born. He is a minority. Trump is dead on, but; he needs to get off twitter.

That’s your version of his plans, based on the reasonable assumption that he would continue to do what he did last time.
I haven’t heard a word from Trump about how he will actually prevent election fraud in 24. And for that matter, why isn’t he worried about it in 22? He’s the nominal leader of the Republican Party and we have an election in about three months. What’s he actually doing to ensure that election is untainted?

Nothing so far as I can tell. Instead he’s tweeting insults to people.

That’s not helpful to YOUR agenda.
