Suit against fertility clinic shows the lunacy of surrogacy after gays get a girl instead of the boy they ordered The wrong embryo was implanted into their 'gestational carrier,' the same-sex partners contend.

(LifeSiteNews) — Last month, a photo of a “maternity” shoot went viral. It depicted two gay men holding hands, beaming at into each other’s eyes, with a pregnant young woman in a red dress in the background. The caption: “We did a ‘maternity’ shoot and it came out great!” The woman was a surrogate; she’d been paid to carry a child created with sperm and an egg donor for the two men. The online reaction — which soon escalated into the millions — was immediate. “This is some Handmaid stuff right here,” wrote conservative commentator Bethany Mandel.

She’s not wrong. Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale — and the gory, brutal TV show — depicts a cultural hellscape in which young women are subjugated and forced to carry children for elites who are unable to conceive naturally. The parallels are obvious, and surrogacy horror stories are increasingly frequent. Surrogates, of course, aren’t forced — although many of them feel the pressure of being paid to use their bodies in the service of others (wealthy couples who prefer not to gestate their own children; gay couples who cannot have natural children).

Of course, it isn’t just the women who are commodified as gestation vessels for the children of the rich. It is also the children who are reduced to objects that can be created and purchased on demand. Some of these parental purchasers firmly believe the old maxim “I brought you into this world and I can take you out.” There are many stories of dissatisfied customers demanding that their horrified surrogates abort one or more of the pre-born children they ordered due to a perceived imperfection in the order. Many children begin their lives in a petri dish and end it through the bloody suction aspirator of the abortionist. Return to Sender.

In fact, a gay couple is suing an IVF clinic in Pasadena for not giving them precisely what they wanted. From NBC:

A male same-sex couple is suing a Pasadena in-vitro fertilization clinic, alleging their hopes of having a son were stymied when a female embryo was wrongly implanted in their gestational carrier and a daughter was born to them instead in 2021. Albert Saniger and Anthony Saniger brought the lawsuit Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court against HRC Fertility and fertility specialist Dr. Bradford A. Kolb, alleging breach of contract, medical malpractice, negligence, fraudulent concealment and violation of the Unfair Competition Law and the Consumer Legal Remedies Act. The suit seeks unspecified damages.

Read that again for a moment — these gay men are angry and suing because their “gestational carrier” gave birth to a baby girl, whom they did not want. Before they “married” in 2013, the men had decided to purchase two sons and apparently even chose their names and (weirdly) set up Gmail accounts for them. Their lawsuit insists that they had specified that “only male embryos [be] transferred to the gestational carrier and … get to select the exact embryos, which had an identified gender, to be used in each transfer.” The IVF clinic in question “specifically targets” gay couples and is “dedicated to helping the gay and lesbian community achieve their dreams of parenthood.”

But after paying $300,000, the two men ended up with a daughter, who was born last year. Presumably, she will one day find these stories on the Internet, and her intentionally motherless childhood will be made worse by the realization that she was a mistaken order. If her “dads” had had their way, she would have been left in a freezer, donated for research, or simply abandoned forever. The two men are still hoping to acquire two sons but are launching the suit to defray the costs of raising their unwanted daughter. Such is the narcissism of these two men that they actually believe that they are the wronged one in this tragic situation.

They are not. They are perpetrators; their motherless children, and the little girl most of all, are the victims. Surrogacy is a sick practice, and it should be banned.

I’ll take the baby girl since they obviously do not want her. My husband and I can provide a loving family for her.

I wonder what they intended to do with these boys?

Normal parent’s might hope for one sex, but are generally happy no matter what the outcome is.

These two guys are actually angry, furious enough to sue. I suspect these two had other plans.

We have a real problem in this country.

XD.... it does!

I had a ‘tard tell me that if it happens in nature, it’s natural.

So when I’d say something like abortion is unnatural, the ‘tard would go find that the yellow bellied long-tailed sea horse of the Galapagos had once been filmed eating her eggs. So of course abortion is natural.

The discussion can end right here, we know why they are angry.

Sexual deviants don’t pay 300 grand for something that doesn’t involve sex.

Yeah, that will be one heck of a custody battle. “I don’t want her. Make my ex take her. “

That’s a good, but terrifying, point.

I’m going to be sick now.

“This is some Handmaid stuff right here,”

BRAVE NEW WORLD by Huxley did it better. Babies made and grown to birth size in test tubes. Moms no longer needed. In fact, the word “Mother” was so vile it was printed as “M——r”.

Send the child to me, I’ll take care of the precious little girl. There are childless couples that would pay a hundred grand for this child and raise it right in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Surrogacy, by its very nature, commodifies women and children. Rent a woman, buy a baby, demand to get what you “ordered”. No longer gifts from God, no longer the visible manifestation of the love between a married man and woman, no longer with rights to both biological parents.

An Australian couple demanded their Thai surrogate abort one of the twins she was carrying after it was detemined the boy had Downs Syndrome at four months. The surrogate refused as it was against her Buddhist beliefs and because abortion on grounds of genetic abnormalities is illegal in Thailand. They flew home with the healthy girl after the babies were born, leaving her twin brother with Downs behind.

It soon emerged the “father” was a convicted pedophile who had abused 7- and 10-year-old girls. Still, he was allowed to keep this baby girl:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-08-06/baby-gammys-father-convicted-on-more-than-20-child-sex-charges/5653502

(Farnell got a mail-order bride from China after his release from prison, then ordered up a baby from Thailand. Go figure.)

After tragic outcomes for surrogate mothers and their babies, Thailand finally banned foreigners and gays from hiring Thai women as surrogates (including the case of the Japanese businessman who ordered up 16 babies through surrogate mothers), but not in time to save this baby taken by a gay couple who had tricked the surrogate mother (who strenuously objected to giving up her baby to gays instead of the “normal family” she had “thought she was doing this for”):

https://www.aseaneconomist.com/gay-couple-win-thai-surrogate-custody-battle/

And then there’s the horrific case of the gay couple who sexually abused “their” baby boy from the time he was two weeks old, trafficked him around the world and used him to produce child porn:

https://mercatornet.com/a_toxic_combination_paedophiles_baby_farms_and_same_sex_marriage/15065/

They claimed he was born via surrogate, which is how they were able to take him, but it later emerged it was more likely they simply purchased the baby from a woman in Russia.

It has happened:

There’s the horrific case of the gay couple who sexually abused “their” baby boy from the time he was two weeks old, trafficked him around the world and used him to produce child porn. Warning: very upsetting story:

https://mercatornet.com/a_toxic_combination_paedophiles_baby_farms_and_same_sex_marriage/15065/

T(hey claimed he was born via surrogate, which is how they were able to take him, but it later emerged it was more likely they simply purchased the baby from a woman in Russia.)

Then again, it’s possible this gay couple dislikes women (some gays do, having been raised by domineering mothers and with absent or distant fathers). Or that their dream was all about raising gay sons just like them.

Whatever the reason, my heart hurts for that poor little girl. Why did they not put her up for adoption? So many wonderful married couples yearning for a baby to love who are stuck on long waiting lists even after undergoing lengthy and intrusive investigations to establish their fitness to be good parents.

Speaking of which, isn’t it crazy that prospective adoptive parents have to prove their financial, psychological and moral fitness, but those who use surrogates and sperm banks do not?

Yes, soon the word “mother” will be shameful. Today’s mothers will soon be “gestational carriers”.

The hoops prospective adoptive couples have to jump through are amazing, Repeated home inspections, financial exams, etc. We have adopted twice: two special needs sons. They are in their 20's & 30's now, but they are dependent on support.

Your sons are Blessed indeed to have such loving and caring parents. You have truly giving hearts, the opposite of the selfish pair in the article who are demanding their wishes to be fulfilled to order. It’s all about them, not the children — while you are all about your children.

It’s so strange that so many believe there are “all these unwanted babies in orphanages” in the US (and in other Western countries) and use this as an excuse for abortion being “necessary” —when the truth is that couples who have already jumped through all the hoops you described are waiting years for a baby, even those willing to adopt special needs babies. And there are no orphanages in the US!

There are many children in foster care, but they are rarely available for adoption before they reach their mid teens and badly damaged from bouncing around through the foster care system all their young lives.

It’s all so very tragic. Wonderful couples who long to adopt, but the unwanted babies are all being aborted and the children of parents unable to parent them are locked up in the nightmare foster care system until they are almost grown and so damaged it takes a *very* rare person willing and able to take on such a teen.

we cared for 4-5 foster children. They were young and were adopted in a short period of time. Our social workers said we would be her worst foster parents because we would get too attached to the children. But we poured ourselves into creating memory books of their first years, and gave those to the adoptive parents. It was a very rewarding time.

We still keep up with one of them.

That’s wonderful! It may be that it differs by state? In my state, they really are rarely up for adoption before their teen years. Out of 8,000 children in the state’s foster care system:

“They said that 408 children are eligible for adoption in the state, and 278 of them are teens.”

https://www.wbir.com/article/life/family/national-adoption-month-around-8000-children-are-usually-in-tennessee-foster-care-system/51-a419e137-4a00-4302-b412-bca9017d62e6

So, only about 5% of children in the foster care system are eligible for adoption, and of those, nearly 3/4 are teens. The article also says that 80% are adopted by foster parents. It is likely to be younger ones being adopted by foster parents, leaving almost exclusively the teens available for adoption to couples outside the foster care system.

I get that children are best off with their biological parents when possible, but it seems it takes so many years before it can be determined that will not happen and adoption becomes possible, and the kids are so old, so often having been shuttled from foster home to foster home ... it just seems so sad.

Suing “ to defray the cost of their unwanted daughter”

Can you imagine how a horrible the life of that little girl will be? Unwanted by her daddies and shunned by society?
