It has happened:
There’s the horrific case of the gay couple who sexually abused “their” baby boy from the time he was two weeks old, trafficked him around the world and used him to produce child porn. Warning: very upsetting story:

T(hey claimed he was born via surrogate, which is how they were able to take him, but it later emerged it was more likely they simply purchased the baby from a woman in Russia.)
Then again, it’s possible this gay couple dislikes women (some gays do, having been raised by domineering mothers and with absent or distant fathers). Or that their dream was all about raising gay sons just like them.
Whatever the reason, my heart hurts for that poor little girl. Why did they not put her up for adoption? So many wonderful married couples yearning for a baby to love who are stuck on long waiting lists even after undergoing lengthy and intrusive investigations to establish their fitness to be good parents.
Speaking of which, isn’t it crazy that prospective adoptive parents have to prove their financial, psychological and moral fitness, but those who use surrogates and sperm banks do not?

The hoops prospective adoptive couples have to jump through are amazing, Repeated home inspections, financial exams, etc. We have adopted twice: two special needs sons. They are in their 20's & 30's now, but they are dependent on support.
