U.S. medical colonel (Arthur Hill) : You scared the shit out of me, you stupid bastard.

SSgt. Eddie Dohun (Cann): You did a fine job yourself, sir, if it makes you feel any better.

U.S. medical colonel : You’re goddamn right it does.

I was wrong once.

I paid extra for a pack of pencils that had erasers on the ends of them.

Ended up never needing the erasers.

I seem to recall he was best friends with Robert Duvall.

He was a good bad guy in Eraser, but in the end he just caught the train!

Don’t cry little fishy, don’t cry, don’t cry. Don’t cry little fishy ,don’t cry. Openly sobbed when Spencer Tracy died in that movie. Same when Donald Crisp died in How Green Was My Valley, and Shirley Temple sang to Victor McLaughlin in Wee Willy Winky. Two of three directed by John Ford.

Per a Twitter reply, he’d been pretty active, there, just recently, posting about his various roles, topics.

RIP, Jimmy.

That picture reminds me, I wonder how Fredo Cuomo is doing.

He needs to go fishing.

A Bridge Too Far is a great movie.

I saw it for the first time at the Hahn AB theatre in 1977. It had been less than a year since I completed Airborne School at Fort Benning (I will ALWAYS CALL IT FORT BENNING!!!).

Ryan O'Neal was cast in the role of BG James Gavin, CO of the 82nd Airborne Division. The movie captured how BG Gavin was injured on his jump, by showing him opening his legs just before landing, a big no no. The one thing I learned at Jump School was to always keep your feet and knees together.

At that moment, I let out a very audible gasp, drawing the attention of those around me. lol

I have to add in Field of Dreams. Not the “Dad do you want to have a catch” scene near the end, but the young Archie Graham playing ball with the older pros scene and makes a play in the game.

One of the great actors of our time and certainly a wonderful icon of our youth for most of us. I first remember seeing Jimmy Caan in a John Wayne picture in 1967 called Eldorado.

He was in a lot of really good pictures one of his more underrated movies was one called Thief really intense probably one of the best performances he ever gave and I highly recommend it.

And I have been watching reruns of the great NBC comedy News Radio and Jimmy had a role in one episode that was absolutely hilarious.

And of course he was in my favorite Christmas movie Elf.

God bless you Jimmy thank you for all the wonderful hours of entertainment Godspeed old friend
