DICK’S Sporting Goods announced it will offer up to $4,000 in travel expenses for employees who decide to terminate their pregnancies and must go out of state to do so, but will not say if the company also plans to reward pregnant employees who choose to have their babies rather than get an abortion.
Following the news of the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision overruling Roe v. Wade, which kicked decisions about abortion laws back to the states, the company announced that it would reimburse up to $4,000 in travel expenses to employees who would have to go out of state to get an abortion.
“While we do not know what decision each state will make in response to this ruling, we at DICK’S Sporting Goods are prepared to ensure that all teammates have consistent and safe access to the benefits we provide, regardless of the state in which you live,” an email from Ed Stack and CEO Lauren Hobart read:

Since men can have babies and have abortions, they should get the $4,000, too. Or else the men will sue.
So just give everybody in the company a $4,000 bonus, be done with it, and everybody will be happy.
Until some employee wants Abortion #2 and the whole things starts all over again. Then the gals will be getting knocked up on purpose to get the free all-expenses paid vacation. Over and over again.
I don’t think the e-staff team really thought this through. But it’s par for the course for most execs I worked with.
Yep! We stopped going to Dick’s when they stopped selling guns.
“So just give everybody in the company a $4,000 bonus, be done with it, and everybody will be happy.”
Not $4,000; $4,000 every time someone makes the claim they are yet again expecting a baby.
Yep, read on to the end of my post.
Free, all-expenses paid vacations for Abortion #2. Then #3. Then #4. It’ll be a HUGE gravy train for those who ride.
👍
Truly sick sick sick how much the abortion ghouls relentlessly lust over killing unborn babies. Blood drips from their mouths, glistens and drips down their chins.
I doubt there are very many of them. It’s a large store in a properous area (but still conservative). I expect it to go under with the lack of customers. The new CEO of Dick’s is a woman from NYC. I”m guessing she’s misjudged the customer base in the area.
Be a male, claim to be pregnant, demand your 4K. Sue for discrimination if they don’t give it to you.
5-4 decision?
Which Republican appointee voted against it?
Correct
Uh boss, won’t there be pregnant employees who will want to keep their child?
What do we tell them when they ask why are some pregnant employees more equal than others at Richard Cranium’s Sporting Goods?
These dicks who sell sporting goods. Or whatever the place is called.
First ended sales of firearms and now financing baby killers.
Good thing they aren’t political. /S
six months? EVERY MONTH!

Medical expenses are tax deductible, and medical benefits unless at the platinum or “Cadillac” level are not taxable income. They are offering reimbursement on medical and travel expenses not a bulk payout. So it will be a dollar for dollar accountability via receipts. The medical expenses will absolutely hold up under the IRS exemptions for medical. The travel would have to be put on a expense schedule depending on the workers tax bracket the liability on that will be minimal and likely itemized deduction. I don’t see how a reimbursement program can be discriminatory since a male employees dependent or spouse who gets pregnant will have access to the same reimbursement program.
It was reported as 6-3 yesterday and earlier today. What happened?
Will be interesting to see abortions timed with vacation.
And that money could taxable as income and reported on a 1099.
“I’d like to see Dicks go out of business.”
Too many suburban soccer moms for that to happen.
Roberto.
