I’ve wondered if those L1 and L2 points would naturally collect space debris. Sort of the same effect as the trash which collects in eddies of water.
Not a good sign that we’ve already had enough damage incurred to require a realignment before the new telescope smell has even worn off. Not good at all.
Remember Hubble was hobbled from the very beginning because of a defective mirror. Now the Webb Space telescope may be distorted. Maybe NASA’s efforts are like a Tower of Babel in space - just never going to work out as originally intended.
