HONOLULU (KHON2) — An F-16 fighter jet’s landing gear did not deploy upon landing on the 4R runway at the Daniel K. International Airport in Honolulu, according to the Hawaii Department of Transportation.
As of 8:45 p.m. the runway was still closed from the incident which happened around 2:45 p.m. Monday, June 6.

The Navy Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) fly F-16s.
Anyone who gears in an F-16 and walks away unhurt should never have to pay for his own beer.
So the combat training cannot be easily observed.
There are also certain mock ups and whatnot there.
I trained Germans this morning in the desert SW of the USA. I’m Israeli.
You all have the best stuff and wide open spaces.
They just not saying.
Could be...Taiwan is getting F-16V aircraft. This aircraft could be delivery of the first aircraft from the Ft. Worth factory.
Usually, the first aircraft is delivered a couple of years early and used as a maintenance trainer. It will be disassembled and reassembled many times.
I don’t think former Presidents get to fly in F-16s normally...
Adorned with Russian cammo, no less.
They’re filling a gap left by retirement of F18s and fly aggressor at Red Flag.
We win most of the time, too.
It’s a clown world after all....
Could be an F-16 guard unit deploying to Hawaii for DACT with the Hawaii guard. That would one tough TDY.
I would like to see a picture of the aircraft. No fin flash...Taiwan.
I wonder what the flying time from Hawaii to Taiwan is? My longest sortie was Holloman AFB, NM to Lakenheath England...12.5 hours.
I was born too soon.
Well that would be a big deal here in DC. An asphalt repair job takes a couple of years what with everyone who needs a piece of the action.
I presume they can scratch one $64 M airplane.
“Maybe it was carrying Obama from DC. He’s building a mansion on Oahu you know.”
Yes...yes he is. On the site of the old Magnum P.I. house no less, and pissing off the locals in the process. Shocking! /sarc
Where to find video?
....hmmmmmm....if it was an F-16 it would probably be regular Air Force, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve....I think the Navy had some F-16N aircraft some years ago that served as “enemy” A/C for their Top Gun training but not sure if they still have them....many years ago our Air Guard unit had an F-16 land with its gear up....they found NO malfunction in the gear mechanism and although it was clearly pilot error, it was all covered up...

Taiwanese F-16 Crash Lands at Honolulu Airport after Luke AFB Training — June 7, 2022

This shows the jet after the landing, not the landing itself.
...you are indeed correct...! one example that I am familiar with is the Vought A-7 aircraft...the principal Air Force version was the A-7D and the principal Navy versions were the A-7A, A-7B and later, the A-7E....Navy aircraft have heavier landing gear so as to be able to take “controlled crashes” which are really what arrested landings on aircraft carriers are...also, avionics and the internal 20 MM cannon differ among the types....interestingly, the Navy named the A-7 as the “Corsair II” in honor of its WWII namesake; the Air Force never adopted that name for its A-7 fleet....after all, it WAS a Navy name.....!!!
Where’s that checklist?
F16s are a one man show. With some cool variant exceptions. Presidents cannot fly. But I wish a few ought to try anyway.
“Hey, sir, just push this lever all the way forward, the rest will take care of itself.....”
Only a handful—Aggressor aircraft.
