Well my TS saga has taken a funny Family Guy type of turn:
My parents and I share the same PC because my mom lives on her Iphone and Ipad only using the PC to print data or pay bills. My dad on the other hand is not PC literate, i.e. could be innocently dangerous if he accessed CC, bank accounts et al and has memory loss due to age. But he is a big Trump fan supporter. When my dad heard about Truth Social he wanted to join so he could basically have Trump’s info printed from TS.
My mom logged into her email account on the PC we share and tried to walk him through the registration process, because he wouldn’t take no for an answer or let’s wait for me to help him.
Everything was good until they had to put in a phone number to receive the verification code. They, thinking that the code could be sent verbally as well as a text, entered the land line phone number. Problem is unlike CCs, TS does not have the option for a verbal verification code to be sent and the land line does not accept text messages. So my dad couldn’t finish his registration.
A day later I tired to register for TS using my email and cell phone. That was when it stated that my moniker was taken. I tried a different variation and it still stated that moniker was taken.
In summary I think my dad attempting to register has TS tying the shared PC to his moniker attempt, so my attempt to join under my email and own moniker gets the username used rejection due to TS being tied to the PC IP address for my dad’s attempt and his inability to get a verification code due to using a landline.
I’ve emailed Truth Social support telling them the situation and asking them to delete my dad’s attempt or to offer ways multiple users can use the same computer since I am getting thanks but no thanks in my attempts to register.
So stay tuned. LOL
