Uvalde police are facing new criticism over first-hand accounts and videos showing them handcuffing and restraining frantic parents, who were urging them to storm the Robb Elementary school building amid the massacre.
'The police were doing nothing,' Angeli Rose Gomez told the Wall Street Journal. 'They were just standing outside the fence. They weren't going in there or running anywhere.'
Gomez has two children in second and third grade and she reportedly drove 40 miles to the school after hearing of the attack.
She was one of the desperate parents who encouraged police with increasing urgency to enter the school.
Eventually, federal marshals put Gomez in handcuffs and told her she was under arrest for intervening in an active investigation, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Gomez said she was able to convince a Uvalde officer whom she knew to have the marshal free her and she took the opportunity to move away from the crowd, jump the school fence, and ran inside the school where she rescued her children herself.
She said that other parents also trying to get to their kids were tackled and even pepper-sprayed by police.
Angel Garza, whose daughter was killed, was handcuffed after trying to run into the school when he heard that a 'girl called Amerie' had been shot.
Garza later told his heartbreaking story to Anderson Cooper.

It takes a bit of training and guts to attack a site defended by criminals, enemy combatants etc. Training soldiers to advance forward under fire is done every day and the results witnessed by actions of young men in every war we have had. There will always be those that freeze or refuse to advance. Those have to live with the placard of 'coward' around their necks forever. For the sake of a few missing in action brave souls in that school, some if not all the children would be alive today.
SALT-W format is quicker. It’s what Army Aviators use to get the point across quickly.

What You’re Doing About It
Just food for thought.
I went to the federal building to talk to the Social Security people about my Dad.
There was an armed guard there.
At the Social Security office.
“What if the cops shot the parents when they went in?”
Don’t give ‘em any ideas for “next time.”
That’s a good one.
Something quick that they can radio to the officers responding.
The people at the school should have the best intell.
Every time the killer is shooting at adults, he isn’t shooting at a child. Any other questions?
They could get in the way of the cops.
“Our wonderful worst responder heroes in blue would have shot them down stone cold dead in the street.”
Maybe. “Next time” the parents might come mentally prepared to do whatever is necessary to save their kids.
This sh!t could get ugly, fast.
Are these the same people who are supposed to go door-to-door and take our guns?
Agree.
This lesson was learned in the aftermath of Columbine where SOP, is supposed to be, first arriving officers enter to attempt to engage the suspect and hopefully end the spread. If that’s not possible, at least distract them long enough to have back up come in and assist. I’m sure the Democrat party does not want this to get out because it absolutely destroys their gun control narrative.
Exactly what I was thinking. They’re going to try to bury this and I believe Biden, I mean his handlers, put a tweet out basically saying law-enforcement did nothing wrong or something to that effect.
Parents were an easy target for the uniformed bullies who were too cowardly to go in and save the students’ lives.
All of the parents should sue.
Guess that mother will be brought up on charges for disobeying the cops.
The point is that the parents were willing to risk their own lives to save the lives of their daughters and sons.
That is what parents are supposed to do.
Guessing you don’t have people that depend on you.
amen
