Discovery+ announced the Robert Downey Jr. series under the working title Downey's Dream Cars on Wednesday. It will be the second collaboration between Downey and the streaming service.
Downey's Dream Cars will show Downey restore six of the classic cars he owns to make them eco-friendly. While Downey and a team of experts work on his cars, Downey will also speak to experts about the future of transportation.
"My goal is to showcase that it's possible to keep the integrity of classic cars while leveraging new tech and innovation to make them more eco-friendly," Downey said in a statement.
Prior to Downey's Dream Cars, Downey produced The Bond for discovery+. The Bond is a four part nature series about people who have formed unique bonds with animals.
Downey and his wife, producer Susan Downey, produce both shows through their company, Team Downey, which they founded together.
Downey's Dream Cars is expected to premiere this year on discovery+.
As long as you have $100k to throw at it

That’s what I want, a 57 Chevy with an electric appliance motor.

Gak!
You bet. That's seriously wrong.
Ruined
I bought a 1972 Opel GT when I was young and dumb. I was dumb for buying an Opel with a Ford 3.8L V6 shoehorned in. I loved that car, in spite of the dumb engine. I was 19, and the car was glossy black with alloy wheels and shiny side pipes.
I got it cheap because the dealer was too dumb to realize that the only thing wrong with the overheating engine was a bad radiator cap. I replaced that and had no problems with it for 3 years.
Virtue Attention-Whoring
….. A garage fire just waiting to happen.
There will be no classic EV’s in the future unless someone has the money to keep replacing the batteries every few years at 10 of thousands of dollars a pop. And I am already hearing about EV’s where the replacement batteries are no longer made.
Whoa.
Try one sentence, then take a breath.
Sounds like a fun ride! Mine has an injected 2.4 liter out of an Opel Frontera. I bought it 28 years ago in 1994.
Ruined?
