My Picks For Tomorrow's Idaho Primary
FreeRepublic ^ | 5/16/22 | OneVike

After some extensive research into all the candidates that are running for statewide offices, and for my district in Idaho, these are the candidates I am voting for tomorrow. If you live in other districts, you will have to do a little extra research to see which candidate is best. In future primaries I may do more local districts, but for now this took long enough.

  1. Governor ---------------- Janet McGeachin

  2. US Senator -------------- Scott Trotter

  3. US House ---------------- Russ Fulcher

  4. Lieutenant Governor ------ Priscilla Giddings

  5. Attorney Generaal -------- Raul Labrador

  6. Secretary of State ------- Dorothy Moon

  7. Treasurer ---------------- Julie Ellsworth

  8. Controller ---------------- Brandon Woolf

  9. Super of Schools --------- Debbie Critchfield

  10. State Senate (dist 9) ------ Jim Rice

  11. State House (dist 9A) ----- Jacyn Gallagher

  12. State House (dist 9B) ---- Judy Boyle

As Christian conservative, I hold to some very staunch old fashioned ideas. As such, I do not suffer fools much. So, when it comes to politicians I seldom give them a second chance to do the wrong thing. If you want to run for office, you better be honest, and up front about what you believe. I do not want some politician with evolving beliefs, or one who does not walk what they talk. Which can really be difficult for an incumbent politician to get my vote again if, after they won, they went against the things they ran on. That being said, there are only a few incumbent candidates I am supporting. The only reason I am supporting an incumbent is because they either have no challenger, two incumbants are running against each other, or because the others are so bad that I am forced to hold my nose in the booth.

Good thing about the internet is that those who desire to get elected are the same people who are always telling everyone what they believe. This can make it difficult to hide from your past. After all, you don't see any introverts running for office. So with some extensive investigation, I have whittled my candidates down to the above. Are they all perfect? NO, but the one's I chose are better then the others. Some of my choices were made easy, because there are so many intrenched establishment types running the state of Idaho that their voting record is easy to smell.

I was quite shocked when I finished to see making my list, because I ended up choosing more women than I did men. However, in today's World there are a lot of men who are so afraid to take a stance on the hot button issues that, when a Momma Bear type comes along, I would rather give her a chance. I mean, what is so difficult about slamming the anti-Christian, anti-American, anti-Capitalist, anti-Family, anti-2nd Amendment, commies, and doing what you say you will do?

This last election should have opened a lot of eyes in Idaho, because neither the Governor, either US Senator, nor the US Representatives from Idaho stood up to defend Trump in the great steal of 2019. Even at the state level, fewer than a dozen or so politicians stood up for Trump. Yet now almost everyone of them acts like they support MAGA. Well sorry Charlie, that boat has left the dock and is sailing away. Following in a canoe now is not the kind of support Trump and America needs. Either you are on board the ship, or you will be plowed over like a PT Boat in the Pacific.

So this is my list, if anyone from Idaho has a problem, please give me some substantive information to change my mind, because tomorrow morning when the polls open, my wife and I will be voting for these candidates.

Isn't Idaho one of the most popular states for Kalifornia refugees? Those refugees have already turned Colorado blue and are close to turning Arizona blue...can Idaho be next?

I've read reports that over half of the Californians coming here are conservative GOPers.

That said, we've been invaded by a whole lot of rude, impatient, and selfish folks from other states, who do not choose to understand and embrace our genial and considerate Idaho way of life.

I think that many would really be happier returning to from whence they came.

Bought properties in the Panhandle seven or so years ago. The prospect of watching the state slowly crumble to blue was too much for me. Sold (big profits.. yay!) while the selling was good.

Electoral politics will not be the force that defines America's future.

Actually, the vast amount of new comers are as conservative, if not more so than those who are long time residents. Those fleeing these states are conservative, not liberals. Most liberals go to bigger states not small redneck states.

Boise has already flipped to the dark side, and Ada County as a whole is about ready to do the same because it’s dominated by Boise.

Boise is the magnet for liberal outsiders, similar to how Salt Lake City is for Utah. The rest of Idaho is generally fine aside from Moscow (woke university punkies) and Sun Valley (elitist ski resort area).

Trump won every other county in the state aside from tiny Teton County, just across the border from the ultra-liberal Jackson Hole area in Wyoming.

The developers sure seem to build little crammed-in communities for them to huddle in and pretend they never left California. Oversized houses with practically zero lot lines look more like the Liberal’s idea of “moving up”, to me.

Coeur d’Alene is also another blue pimple on Idaho’s butt. Needs a good fumigation. Most Washington and California refugees are OK. Some decidedly aren’t. There’s a concerted effort here in the north to oust RINOs and other shitlib trash from power. Had a nice chat with Scott Herndon on my front porch a few days ago.

True about Ada county. When the Dobbs leak happened, Boise mayor Lauren McLean said that she was “deeply saddened”... What is she saddened about? That Idaho politicians will have to craft a customized abortion law for Idaho? What’s sad about that?

The current senator is stale but too entrenched. It would send a message wouldn’t it?

I find that surprising given what's happened in Colorado,Arizona and New Hampshire (which has been destroyed by refugees from Massachusetts).

I like Natalie Fleming over Trotter. The only thing she seems to be weak on is immigration, but her answers on Ballotpedia are much better than Trotter’s. Of course, you really never know until they get into office.

But at this point, a message to Crapo is about all we’re going to manage.

She outed a rapist, who was convicted. Yet the establishment Republicans trashed her to stop her from running against their establishment choice.

And I agree, but there are more. Tell me why 85% of elected Republicans in Idaho never lifted a finger to fight for Trump in the stolen election.

To me, that says 85% of elected Republicans in Idaho need to go.

Natalie Flemming an Independent and lost an election 2018 an election of a State House seat. She is also a Mormon.

I really do not like what I see in all the Mormons running this state. The Mormon Church has an evil hold on Idaho, and that bothers me.

Does "The Establishment" still largely mean the moronians?

I'm glad to see Raoul in the game, not because he's a wonderful conservative, but he's fun to watch.

Ponderay seems nearly on a different planet from Boise, though I have been away for quite some time.

I moved up here a little over 3 1/2 years ago.

I had gotten to know almost 50 people in the 1 1/2 year after moving up here before the election in 2020. I would say that 95% of them lived here their whole life. Mind you, this is Payette, and most people are conservative. As I talk to people, they do love Trump. Or at least they all claimed to love him. Then the election happened.

Long before things went to sh#^, a good 30% of them admitted voting for Biden over Trump. Their reasoning was they believed the lies, and thought Trump was arrogant. I look at them and say you lied to me then.

I pretty much turned my back on them. But a bit over a year later I as I ran into them at places as I was out and about, I would ask what they thought of their vote now, they just walk away shaking their heads.

Don’t tell me how the newbies up here are ruining this state. The Republican RINO establishment has had a firm control of this state for years, because Idahoans vote for RINOs without knowing because most figure, “Oh he’s a Republican cool. I’ll vote for him”.

I can name 8 candidates on the list I voted against who have been in politics up here for 20 years, and they have all held one seat in government or another, and they are all RINO’s. Men like Bundy, who claim to love America, yet they support open borders, which by the way the vast majority of farmers I have met up here support open borders. Three of them supported Biden so the wall would not go up.

So tell me again how Idahoan’s are true blue conservatives. I lived in California for 33 years, I met the same type of longtime residents in that state who sat back and supported ideas that destroyed the state of California, simply because they had an R in front of their names. They will repeat the phrase, “Hey, at least they are not a Democrat.”

As an outsider, I have met more true diehard conservatives up here who moved from other states than I have those who lived up here their whole life. Every conservative outsider I met is involved in knowing what is going on and want to stop what happened where they came from.

As I prepared this list, I asked most my neighbors who they supported. I wanted to get a feel of their opinions. Well, each and everyone support Crapo, Little, and Phil McGrane. Interesting, because Phil McGrane, who is running for Idaho Secretary of State, and took nearly $500,000 from Mark Zuckerberg’s Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) during the 2020 elections

Most idahoans I meet are clueless on politics when it comes to knowing who their elected officials are, or what they are doing once elected. Sadly, most don’t even like talking politics. A politically ignorant populace is another way of describing a blind slave just waiting for the shackles to be put on.

Sorry, but the people living in Idaho their whole life better wake up and smell the stench, because it permeates from the Idaho Republican establishment. Give one party complete control of a state long enough and I will show you a party that will screw the voters over as fast as the Democrats will. Like business, you need competition to keep them honest, well so do politicians.

Don’t believe me? Look how bad the Republicans got after the Civil War. From 1870 until Teddy split the party for his desire to become President again, they controlled the White House and the country, yet they were in many ways as bad as the Democrats.

Welcome to Idaho my friends, it is not outsiders who are selling you out, its the Republican establishment Mitch McConnel types who will destroy any conservative who dares to stand up to them and their control. Study what happened to Bob Dornan in California, and you will see how the Republican establishment will destroy good men just to keep their country club establishment loaded with members only.

Us outsiders know what happened when a party stops listening to their constituents, the state become Democrat eventually.

Time to shake things up, or Idaho will go the way of California eventually.
