Do you apply such gravitas and reliability and accuracy to ALL senior presidential advisors? Or just the ones you agree with? Throughout its history the US has had a hell of a lot of “senior advisors” who were dimwits and got a lot wrong, and who got us into a lot of trouble.
He’s known for appearing on Russian state tv, says Russia will defeat NATO and we can’t afford to increase our military spending. Also claims we want to “attack Russia” and says sanctions are the equivalent of a military attack. IOW Russia is he who must be obeyed.
Why he’s a defeatist on Russia, I have no idea.
You post a 41 minute video without a basic summary? No one is going to watch that.

Even if that were true, it's irrelevant.
He also makes a good point about the media and political opinion makers in the west - the same folks who just brought us Covid shutdowns for example - when they are all speaking in a single voice about any issue it should make anyone think twice.
And right now they are in unison about Ukraine.

Ukraine is a proxy war between the Deep State and Russia and the Deep State is willing to fight until the last Ukrainian life.
There is no way Russia can lose, just as we couldn’t lose a war with Mexico.
Russia has gotten 60% of what they wanted. Their military has no war experience, just like most of the rest of the world’s military. That explains the mistakes.
Russia has an existential interest in keeping Ukraine neutral.
We have no existential interest, other than there are people in the Deep State with a raging hatred for Russia. Newland. Pompeo. Hillary. Hatred is no reason to flirt with global thermonuclear war.
The Deep State pushes Russia hard enough and something terrible could happen.
MacGregor and Scott Ritter are two of the few military sources telling the truth about this war.

I listened to the entire interview.
I disagree with Macgregor, his thinking, his predictions and conclusions. He pushes an abstract; how he thinks and wants to understand the attitude of Putin and his cadre of KGB Soviet wrinkled old men. Bunch of Kremlin old men that see Russia’s future looking in the Soviet rear-view mirror. Macgregor has an opinion and it’s subjective. Right or wrong... it’s just his opinion.
Also... Russia does not = Putin. Putin = Soviet KGB Putin. Putin’s mindset and his delusions of grandeur does not act/think in the interests of Russia or Russian people. An existential threat exists ONLY in Putin’s mind which threatens HIS plans; his ego and ambitions. Putin couldn’t care less what Russians think, only what the Bolshevik Soviet Kremlin thugs think. He threatens anyone who disagrees with him... 10 years in a gulag!
Putin’s occupation of Ukraine was planned prior to 2013 with the poisoning of Ukrainian politicians who opposed Putin’s meddling in Ukraine. Putin’s puppet president Viktor Yanukovych was thrown out by the Maidan Revolution in Febuary 2014 for signing allegiance with the Kremlin in 2013! Putin wanted his Ukraine puppet governance and client state. He was totally pissed when his stooge Viktor was run out of Kiev in 2013/14!
Was Obama and his operatives stroking Ukraine away from Russian influence and favor... of course they were. Obama and Biden wanted a client state governance in Ukraine they can wash their dirty laundry through. The corruption was endless and Biden was in the center of it along with his other family political interests. The Obama administration state department,its malfeasance and corruption in Ukraine was deep.
Putin is an opportunists as well as a sore-loser when his plans crumbled to own/claim Ukraine for himself, his KGB thugs and the Kremlin. So in 2014, he continued to meddle in the affairs of Ukraine and the Dunbas; armed the separatists and pro-Russian insurgents creating/orchestrating misdirection giving him the opportunity/opening to invade/take Crimea, Ukraine. That was his goal from the beginning. He illegally invaded/occupied Crimea. I would have also shut the water off to Crimea!
Macgregor is looking through a narrow lens with a personal perspective, not with too much objectivity... or should I say with a cafeteria style objectivity that supports his abstract opinion.
You would think.. But what if Russia was merely taking back what was theirs? Would that be an invasion? And when Poland takes a big chunk of Ukraine land back, is that going to be and invasion. Poland is massing trips on the border, hmmm?
