I agree about the creepy aspect.
My Daughter was an extremely talented singer, she fit the pattern of talent and beauty. When she was offered a chance to go to Nashville I advised against it. I told her to first get a job in a recording studio being a backup singer, maybe even cleaning toilets and just learning the reality of life. She did not move away, she still sings very well, but now she is a mother of 2 a grandmother and is happy with her life.
Fame is a narcotic, there are few people who can become famous and or wealthy without losing their soul. I am proud of her for who she is now.

Sadly, I have to agree. What part of just being a little girl did she get to experience? I so wish that she could have been stopped. May the God who created her fill all of her needs and hold her close in His arms.

Very wise parents. It sounds as if she were young enough to enjoy the experience without being pressured to look or behave in a particular way. Coaxed, maybe, but not pressured.

These “pageants” weird me out more than the Manson family.
They dress these little girls with more makeup and skimpy dresses that make a street waker blush.
Wh y would a mother do this? Living through their daughters is one but, IMHO they are grooming them for a future in the sex trade.
Why else dress them up to appeal to adult male desires.
Should be banned. Period.

I blame the ... damn.
The last 2 generations have been all about attention and notoriety. Participation trophies. 'You can do nothing wrong, you are always right'.
Not about individual thinking..
Not about, "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose".
And I do NOT blame it on them.. These are the products of Gen X (I am GenX), and the technology that we allowed to happen.
I am a computer geek, although behind the times. I warned my friends, and people I had contact with back before there was a WWW.
Back before there was 'WINDOWS'/MAC/Amiga/Atari.
I warned all of my friends back then that there would be a problem with personal ID as people were coming in, not understanding the potential power the the information given would have. I never even considered the government using it at the time, but I saw the problem that it would cause in the future.
When the internet came up with World Wide Web, I knew we were phuqed. I tried to warn friends.. but Windows made it simple for people to click 'yes', and wipe their hard drive.. (I loved DOS and UNIX.. it was almost impossible to screw anything up).
When MySpace came onto the new WWW, I warned my friends not to put personal info online.... anyway, do I need to go on?

Did you ever see the movie “Jude the Obscure”? It featured a pretty young kid murder suiciding his siblings. Really freaked me out.

My son went so far as to write the note, but couldn’t go through with it. He told us that he decided that killing himself would be the ultimate insult to God, showing Him that he did not trust His plan.
Everyone was an emotional wreck after that. Horrified that he would consider it...pleased by his reason for not doing it.
I feel so bad for the large number of youth being taught to reject God. No anchor. No port in a storm. No still, small voice...

It seems that the pageants went from the cute kid syndrome to the Young gold digger syndrome. As it did that it changed from innocence to vulgarity.

Didn’t know things like. Existed until the Joan Benoit murder.
Not impressed way back then.

It’s actually just called “Jude”, the book had the full title.
Sad.
