Stupid is as stupid does!
The Russians aren’t going to try to to take all Ukraine. They have enough to do to take the eastern provences and the southern corridor.
Only to breathless morons. A state visit and a spoken wish that Russia lose the capacity to invade neighbors is hardly akin to committing US troops.
Triple mask Austin... who helped to bungle things in Afghanistan.
“For 70 years Ukraine was ruled by the Soviet Union and the region was at virtual peace.”
Except for the deaths of millions of Ukrainians.
He forgot that.
Why post this swill ?
Gee
Maybe Joe is earning that russian money he and hunter got.
Tag team con job.
Idiocracy marches on
Austin a shill for Raytheon . Duh !
“Austin is the leader of the United States military.”
_____________________________________________________
No. He is the Secretary of Defense.
The president is the commander in chief, i.e., the leader of the United States military.
Unfortunately, that person is Joe Biden. God help us.
And by the way, why are they dealing with the Ruskies on the so called Iranian nuke deal? What a fricken joke. These people have to be hanged for treason.
... it is obvious there will be no peace in the region unless the Kremlin controls all of Ukraine. My take of what the US position is, is that if Russia persists, if Russia prevails in Ukraine, then the US will escalate. The more Russia "wins," the more the US fights. If Russia takes Ukraine, there will be less peace, not more.
Kind of like a homeless encampment that the EU has to pour money into, with no access to the sea to ship their grain, no oil or gas, and no energy transiting to Europe that they can steal or make money off of.
“Ukraine was under the Soviet Union for 70 years and there was never the threat of world war” -— There were repeated threats of World War III during the Cold War, though they did not have to do with Ukraine itself.
Ukraine has not been ruled by Russia since 1991. In the 70 years before that, there were only the 5 million killed by the Russians in the forced famine of the 1930s, and then WWII.
Kind of a weird way to define "virtual peace".
And why does a guy who claims to be "Representing a coalition (including philanthropists) of over 250,000 senior citizens in all 50 states" have only 672 followers on Twitter.
Why do we keep seeing pro-Russian materials from obscure bloggers?
I think we’re now at that point. When it began, Russia was ok with leaving most of Ukraine alone and only freeing up the Russian-speaking areas. But now Ukraine has become a surrogate for “Weakening Russia” (stated US policy)...so Ukraine will NEVER stop prodding Russia.
So Russia might as well cut the deal people are talking about where Poland and Russia divide up Ukraine and put an end to the problem.
Article gets one point wrong;
Ukraine, Cossacks, Scythians whatever you want to call them, have been ruled by the RUS, whether the original Viking kingdoms, or the Tsars, or the Soviets, for 1000+ years.
“For 70 years Ukraine was ruled by the Soviet Union and the region was at virtual peace.”
Except for that minor kerfuffle when the uncivilized russians starved 10 million Ukrainians to death. And instituted a police state so harsh the Ukrainians initially WELCOMED the nazis as liberators... until they figured out that communism and fascism are spawn of the same totalitarian socialist impulse.
Which is good, but Austin's woklitary is not.
"Austin’s words can be read as a direct admission of war between the United States and Russia,"
Nothing new. Korea, Vietnam, now China.
"it is obvious there will be no peace in the region unless the Kremlin controls all of Ukraine. "
Indeed: peace under a lustful invader/oppressor (who would ban FR as he outlaws evangelicals being evangelical) who demands submission of the West in order for have lasting peace.
