Although many Marvel fans were ecstatic when the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder finally arrived, others were less than thrilled. In fact, it seems that quite a few Twitter users have been calling out actor Chris Pratt for being homophobic after the trailer launched. It seems that one joke in the trailer has been the reason for the name-calling.
As those who’ve seen the footage know, there’s a moment where Chris Pratt’s character Star-Lord is speaking with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. He gives the following word of advice:
“You ever feel lost? Just look into the eyes of the people that you love.”
While Thor takes this advice and looks directly into Star-Lord’s eyes, Star-Lord has the opposite reaction.
“Not me,” Star-Lord says.
Thor replies with the following:
“What? Just listening.”
Now Twitters users are blaming Chris Pratt for the line, insisting that the actor is homophobic as a result of his delivery. One tweet in particular has gotten well-over 100,000 likes as of this writing. In fact, many of these tweets have gained tens of thousands of likes, suggesting that many of these Twitter users feel the same way. As you can see below:
Some of the comic book movies are really enjoyable.....Ironman because Robert Downey Jr of course and a few others but nowadays ya gotta watch out for the not so hidden subliminal messages......that actually goes for a lot of stuff hollywood craps out.
I am sure they know.
The exchange described in the article sounds pretty hilarious. It’s always been used as a comedic device. Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson did it well a couple times.
To all those woke idiots- die, die often, die painfully, just die somewhere we cannot smell your smarmy little rotten brains.
Do some people, just have too much time on their hands?
Ironman was good, true. They lost me at “Civil War” because the narrative supported an authoritarian state...which I’m sure is why it was so well received in China.
Some even more frequently than that I’m afraid
This is a “Christian, sit down and shut up” scenario! These radicals on the left hate Christians and they use the “homophobic” BS as an “excuse” to hate Christians.
“lost me at “Civil War” because the narrative supported an authoritarian state”
See, like I said....subliminal messaging
Um... the authoritarians were the bad guys...
These people are retards. So if a guy doesn’t want to be rogered by another guy, that makes him homophobic?
The homofreaks protesting him don’t go to movies anyway......the exist solely to carp and promote gaywad this, gaywad that.
But I guess Chris shoulda took a lesson from being in two films that was directed by one of THEM......
If you wanna see a good movie that he was great in, go look at the Amazon Prime movie called “The Tomorrow War.” It’s a rocking good movie.....(and not one bit of homofreak in it.)
For the insecure Virtue Grandstanding is a fulltime job.
Right. Not a Phobia, which is fear. Its Disgust - a different primary emotion.
Homo Disgust.
“They lost me at “Civil War” because the narrative supported an authoritarian state...”
Is that what you took away from it?
There were two sides there, one was in favor of a little authoritarianism in exchange for “security”, and the other was not. There were “heroes” on both sides of that debate, so it wasn’t as if the movie explicitly advocated for one or the other from the start.
But in the end, it was the “rogue” group of Avengers who stood up to authoritarianism who ended up actually stopping the bad guys and winning the day, albeit with a little clandestine help from one of the guys on the other side. So I don’t see how that’s an endorsement of authoritarianism. If it had gone the other way and Tony Stark’s group had been the saviors, then I guess I could see it.
Many of the Avengers supported the authoritarians. Thus the ‘civil war’.
IIRC, the correct term is “Love ya, man - no homo.” :0)
In the "Guardians Of The Galaxy" movie (I just watched the 3D version last night, by coincidence) when the main female character comments on how messy his ship is he says to one of the other characters "She has no idea. If she had a black light, the inside of this ship would look like a Jackson Pollock painting!"
LOL, grinning that as I type...now THAT is great writing! Goes over the heads of humans who shouldn't know what that means, and hits those who do squarely in the funny bone!
Go figure.
Some people just have way too much time on their hands.
Sometimes I think what this country/world needs is a good disaster, something to focus attention on real problems, like survival.
Heh, you NAILED it there, bray.
