You run a lot of current through water and it splits into O and H.

Well I guess that's the rub where do you get the current for the split from. Is the conversion worth the hydrogen at the end of the day?

Hydrogen is far more volatile than gasoline.

The flammability limits of hydrogen range all the way from just 4% in air to 96% in air; that’s a bell curve with a BIG, FAT WHOPPER of an explosive middle.

Gasoline has to be vaporized to burn, and LOTS of it has to be vaporized all at once to explode. In fact, you can quench a lit match in a bucket of gasoline; it’s just not that volatile in its liquid state, but in the vapor state — watch out.

So, tank-as-bomb comparisons between hydrogen and gasoline are just silly; there are vehicle accidents regularly that spill gasoline, and we do not see explosions all over the place as a result.

The Sun has a lot of Hydrogen.

Why not just mine it there?

Brilliant!

Saturn has a lot of Methane, maybe we should mine it?

I believe that fusion converts hydrogen into helium. So eventually you would run out of fuel. Also if using h2o what do you do with the excess oxygen?

While electrolysis and Nat Gas extraction are reasonable ways to produce hydrogen they have gotten to be a bit old school in terms of industrial production. The guys I buy industrial gasses from now draw H, O2, CO2, CO from free air. Since they all liquefy at different temps the process starts by HP compressing then chilling to the point of first liquefaction. Draw that off then chill again and repeat.

More importantly this whole idea is freeping, bleeping , stucking, bungholio bad. Everybody who uses cryogenic gas knows the fire marshall will ream you a fresh one if your storage /work space is not well ventilated. Cryogenic gasses slowly bleed off while in storage. Imagine fueling up your Hmobile, driving home, parking in your weather tight garage, then lighting up a cigarette next time you go out to take a cruise? Yeah, everybody needs one of these. It wont matter if you got the covid clot shots.

10 years from now, it will still be 10 years asway.

The coefficient of friction changes with normal force (weight).

We’re reaching the limits of my memory ;).

“The coefficient of friction changes with normal force (weight).”

Not really all that much over actual vehicle load variation.

Current Hydrogen fuel cell cars like the Toyota Mirai don't use cryogenic Hydrogen, they use gaseous Hydrogen stored onboard under high pressure. (Up to 10,000 PSI.)

Cryogenic Hydrogen storage would be limited to the fueling station storage tanks.

“CO”?

Whats the typical concentration of that away from combustion gasflow sources?

Daimler Benz worked for year to develop a hydrogen powered car. They’ve stopped the research.
