The Biden administration has authorized new oil and gas leases

Don’t be fooled, though, into thinking that the administration intends to ease up on the inflationary pressure from high fuel prices. It means, instead, to stifle drilling.

Inflation in America is the worst it’s been in over 40 years, with much of the inflationary pressure coming from soaring fuel prices. On Friday, though, the Biden administration announced with pride that it has refused all but 20% of the requests for oil and gas leases on federal land as well as raising royalty prices for drilling companies. The Biden administration’s goal isn’t to make life better for ordinary Americans; its goal, instead, is to serve special interest groups and to chase down and catch the climate change unicorn.

As all of us recall, one of Biden’s first acts upon entering the Oval Office was to “pause new oil and natural gas leases on public lands or in offshore waters pending completion of a comprehensive review.” Thirteen states sued to stop this executive order. In June 2021, the Louisiana District court issued a nationwide injunction invalidating this moratorium on the ground that the executive office lacked the power to take such a step.

Rather than lifting the executive order, the administration simply ignored the court’s ruling. Instead, after almost a year, the U.S. Department of the Interior has put out a press release proudly announcing that it’s complying with the order by “reforming” leases...to refuse most of them:

I also think that all of the permits required to get to the point of pumping oil will become a tangled web that stops oil producers. The Biden regime will continue to say things like “Come on oil companies, we gave you the leases you asked for and your prices are still high!”

They’ve already been doing that.
Kilmeade had an oil guy on his radio show last week explaining that very thing.
He said they can provide all the leases they want it’s really about permitting and that’s where brandon holds it all up.

And with higher royalty rates = less likely to get drilled.

What about all the rigs he and the unelected bureaucrats laced on top of producers

Biden has already said he intends to get rid of the use of oil & gas, which is a by-product of oil.. He needs a real attitude adjustment. Anyone with half a brain knows this country depends on a good oil supply for just about everything. All the “green energy” available will never do the job without the use of oil.

It’s just another ruse to construct a “point the finger” senerio at those bad oil companies; again.

A person only needs to look at this drilling issue to learn that Obama is in charge at the White House. Obama’s Interior Department was responsible for overseeing drilling at the Deepwater Horizon site, and was responsible for the world’s worst environmental disaster outside of Obama’s killing of the Animas River in Colorado. Obama proved to himself and everyone else that Democrat administrators are total incompetents. Placing them back in charge of drilling on federal oil leases would be asking for political ruin .....again.

Yep. The bigger the royalties, the lower the profits and the less the oil companies are willing to risk.

What does anyone want to bet that the land he released for drilling is among the least productive?

The Axis powers in World War II had their ass kicked because they could not produce oil. What the Biden administration is doing is treasonous.

That is the real problem with this so called release of drilling areas. -Tom

I believe a lease occurs ahead of a permit to drill.

A lease is like an offer to sell a house. Now, let’s get some bids.

After that, AFTER, yah have to get a license to actually drill. The Feds can drag the license out for years. So, leases are meaningless.

You are correct. Also, there are permits for roads and any kind of construction. This is just meaningless word games that most people won’t understand.

Biden administration has authorized new oil and gas leases
80 % less of where they want to drill
Bonus round the fed up their royalty by 50 %
Net gain zero

A new scam to balm the problem on the oil industry media approved.

Theater. They still won’t allow drilling or refining. So, it’s all crap.

“Rather than lifting the executive order, the administration simply ignored the court’s ruling.”

Lawlessness.
