White House exploring ways to lower gas prices

As U.S. gasoline prices hover near a 14-year high, the Biden administration is exploring ways to lower fuel costs, from suspending federal gas taxes to further tapping the nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Among the options the White House is examining for reining in gas prices are reopening the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, suspending the federal gas tax and offering incentives to oil producers to increase output, Stein said.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said she is open to suspending the federal gas tax on fuel. Democrats in the Senate have introduced legislation that would suspend the 18.5-cents-per-gallon tax for the rest of the year, although critics note that doing so would deplete the Highway Trust Fund, which pays for road maintenance. Several states have already eliminated their own state gas taxes.

The increase in the price of gasoline is part of the Biden administration plan to switch us all to windmill powered electric cars. Putin is being well compensated to play the villain in this political theater. The Ukrainians are doing their part as well... they will wake up to find that their supposed “George Washington” has skipped out with $Billions and left them with a wrecked country that the US taxpayers will be asked to rebuild.

Oil companies have no reason to drill more or do anything. They were dead the past couple years do to covid. They are merely returning value to shareholders and reinvesting. They aren't gonna turn on a dime, no matter who is the president.

80% (at least) of the added cost of gasoline in Blue States is due to THEIR POLICIES. There’s only so much that the federal government can even do in the short term.

Well now here is a novel idea- why not confiscate all wealth from all politicians and give those dollars to the oil companies to lower pump prices? If it’s not enough include the wealth of all blood relations of those politicians.

This admin plumbs new depths of stupidity daily. The highest prices ever, a new wide open market (Europe) and abundant oil/gas in the ground in North America are more than enough incentives to produce more.

Biden and the Democrats ARE the impediment to lower fuel costs. Their religious devotion to their climate dogma is the backdrop to this entire problem.

No they are not exploring ways to lower gas prices. They are exploring ways to pretend they are trying to lower gas prices. There are simple, obvious solutions which they adamantly refuse to use because they don’t conform to their ideology driven narrative. The truth is they like high gas prices and they intend to keep them high and drive them higher. Frauds and liars to the core.

Here are some suggestions:
1: pump more of it out of the ground.
2: build more nuclear plants (less market demand on oil).
3: cut taxes on all energy.
4: cut subsidies on all energy.
