@MarkDice
The fact that Will Smith wasn’t kicked out of the Oscars and arrested for assaulting Chris Rock shows how Hollywood allows, enables, and celebrates the very worst behaviors.
Workplace violence isn’t tolerated in normal industries.
@MarkDice
Probably not staged. Jada Pinkett Smith has alopecia so in this context the joke was pretty mean, and set him off
@MarkDice
Maybe the writers didn't know about Jada's alopecia. I doubt they would allow Chris Rock to mock someone's medical condition in the woke era.

To quote a fellow FReeper:
“Not my monkeys; not my circus.”
It's a great quote and it fits perfectly.
I have never watched the oscar meyer weiners, therefore I can't change the viewer ship ratings by not watching, so I have to applaud your re-quote.
1) I think it was staged as a cynical ploy to boost ratings for a dying show that no one cares about.
2) I’ve decided to react to it as if it were real and declare that negroes have poor impulse control and a strong tendency to violence. I want nothing to do with them.
Hollyweird is NOT a normal industry.
More like Jussie Smollett, take two.
I thought it was hilarious. I assume Will Smith and Jada have laughed at Chris Rocks jokes about OTHER people over the years... but now since its personal its not funny? These hypocrites can piss off.
I want nothing to do with them.
Wants are one thing but reality is another. They are involved
in a lot activities that you participate in daily/weekly.
Good point.
Probably is real. Most men would not take it well if someone mocked their wife in public about a medical issue that involves their looks and health.
Larry Elder pointed out that Will Smith insulted him on one of his albums.
Dear @RealWillSmithFP,
If I punched in the face everyone who insulted me, like you did in your rap song, “Mr. Niceguy,” where you called me “Uncle Tom,” I’d need stunt hands.https://t.co/13Y0NIecaC#Oscar— Larry Elder (@larryelder) March 28, 2022
Imagine if a white guy did that same thing. He’d have been tossed out if the building.
Even the Brits admit it was a disaster.

For all thinking this was a staged event..no way. academy now has to face calls that one of the few black actors to win should lose the award due to violating the rules
The producer of the movie is very upset.
Some heavy hitters are coming out against Will Smith...but I suspect blacks actors won’t.
Comedians are upset because it gives license for violence against them
People think that was real? God, people are dumb.
Tossed out of the building? He’d already be fastracked to death row.
You can take ‘em outta the ghetto but.....you can’t take the ghetto out of ‘em
Its been a while since I witnessed two adults getting into a fight. But, back in the day if someone walked up to another and hit them without warning or trash talk...the “victim” would not be prepared for the attack and would be off balance at best. They would generally be back on their feet or on the floor.
Chris Rock barely moved.
Men slapping men is not really a “fight.”
Doing it in a public place is just trashy.
SLAP!!
👍
Finally a comment worth the time of this subject.😉
UNITY!!!!
Most of the “entertainment” produced today by Hollywood is about violence or sexual depravity. Most video games produced by Hollywood and Silicon Valley involve violence. Why shouldn’t violence be part of the awards ceremony?
