The film follows U.S. government agent T.R. Devlin (Grant), who enlists the help of Alicia Huberman (Bergman), the daughter of a German war criminal, to infiltrate a Nazi organization. The situation becomes complicated when the two fall in love as Huberman is instructed to seduce Alex Sebastian (Rains), a leader of the organization who had previously been infatuated with her.
Enjoy.

This movie isn’t shown a lot but it is Hitchcock at the top of his craft. You will have a fun night at the movies and, as usual, be on the edge of your seat.
Good one. Thanks!
This is the type of film we used to get on Saturday night on the local PBS with the long-time host making the film selections and commentary. He passed away so we have a new host who selects the likes of “The Founder” which will air tonight, the story of Ray Kroc and the McDonald brothers. Not a bad film but still not class film noir with actors like Rains and Bergman.
This is a great flick especially Rains’ mother who is the personification of evil.
This is my favorite Hitchcock movie, who shockingly never won an Oscar. FWIW, it was nominated for 2 Oscars, Supporting Actor (Claude Raines) and Original Screenplay, but did not win either one. Roger Ebert included it in his list of 10 favorite films.
Yes! She is absolutely terrific.

Hard to argue. Fantastic movie in every way.
Great movie, but I never thought of it as film noir. Claude Rains is fantastic.
“Notorious” in case anyone was wondering.
Thank you
The original Godfather door slam.
Thanks for the recommendation. I saw the film many years ago, but forgot most of it.
I’m a huge Hitchcock fan, but I’ve never seen Notorious. I’ve tried a couple of times, but couldn’t make it past the rather slow (IMO) beginning. It got better and more suspenseful toward the middle, and I made it to the end this time. Pretty good movie, but I wouldn’t put it on my list of fave Hitch films — Rear Window, Rebecca, Dial M for Murder, Psycho, and a few others.
Thanks for the ping!
Really enjoyed that, ex91B10. You’ve revitalized Date Night.
Please keep them coming.
