That’s what I get for not reading the whole thread!
Maverick
Fairmont

300
Cirrus

Ranger
Custom
Crown Victoria..............................
Bingo
You can tell he is a leftist. Leftists are only comfortable with planned economies. That is why they conceive that the only acceptable governments are socialistic -- planned outcomes. The Road to Serfdom is lined with planners.
In the 1980s I owned a Datsun 510 station wagon that I also worked on. That was my favorite automobile. Had lots of great adventures in it too.
They still have some good articles if you can weed out the political bs...................
“It’s Also Part Of The Problem. Ford’s ability to sell pickups to people who need cheap cars isn’t a cause for celebration.”
That is a problem to the people (Soros, DNC, etc.) who many here are supporting on Ukraine.
The condescension from the socialist Left is nauseating.
So I went and read several of his articles and I can confirm he is definitely a soy boy, he thinks that cars should have a “global emissions standard”, and he doesn’t seem to think CAFE standards are a problem.
In several articles he presents issues which should be handled by manufacturers and instead suggests the government impose more liberty stealing regulations and controls to save us from ourselves, so yes he is a commie whether he actually understands that or not.
Its sad really because he obviously has a love for all things automotive but I don’t think he understands why the automobile is such an American staple to express ones personal tastes and preferences.
The automobile in the United States for many owners is a great example of Liberty and Freedom as well as a celebration of achievement and satisfaction.
At least the author is young enough he may get to leave his academic sterile shelter and find some real world wisdom………
Not trying to be argumentative however I don’t think any of those model names have ever crossed over from car to truck etc. Like ford’s doing with maverick.
I get the whole horse theme thing but maverick was a bad marketing move IMO.....just my 2 cent
Article in search of a problem.
>My experience with everyone who gets a pickup is that once you go pickup, you never go without one.
Yep, the only other vehicle I liked as much as my Ram 2500 HD was my Porsche 928s4. And I can go without a Porsche in Arizona, I can imagine all the parts that would fall off if I drove the roads around here, or how quickly all the filters would get clogged up. Reminds me I need to changeout the fuel filter in the diesel again, every time I change it out it oozes something that reminds me of Permian Basin drilling mud...
Ya got that right.
And way too expensive for most folks.
Daihatsu HiJet - and make it electric.
Like an amped-up, Transformer Wheel Chair.
Hahahahaha………….
I went and read 10-12 articles.
Your research was much easier.
I sure hope he can gain some actual wisdom soon……..
“Sold my Tacoma in 2019 and bought a jeep.....I love my jeep but as a home owner boy do I miss my truck bed.
I underestimated the need for it.
Kinda stuck at the moment because I don’t wanna give my left nad for a truck right now.”

I purchased a new 2020 Tacoma in Sept 2020. Mine is an SR with access cab 4x4, 3.5L V6 and nice wheels. Pd 31K for it which I think is high. Carvana will give me 33K right now even with 23k miles. The the local Toyota dealer has a 2019 same except a few less miles, a 4 cyl and steel wheels for $35k
PUs tend to hold value better than cars but this is silly. I have owned 2 Rangers and a F-250 in the past but really love the Tacoma. It is though actually for me not a necessary vehicle, I have put about 2k miles on it since labor day. It is for us literally the only debt we have and thinking about selling it. Either way, keep it or sell it I intend to pay it off by the end of the year, not that that has anything to add to this conversation.
How long does it take to charge that up I wonder.
It's a testament to modern medicine, and farming, that there are old fat people. King Henry VIII, dead at 55, must be having a king-sized temper tantrum in his grave.
