It's actually the exact opposite. She's lived in the city her entire life and has always seen potential violence and removed herself from it. She has a lot of faith in that ability, and I've seen it at work on several occasions.
The main issue, I believe, is that she's not comfortable around weapons and generally sees the potential for mis-use, not that I've ever done anything along those lines.
FWIW- you didn't mention this, others did, but she has a profession where CCW would be absolutely impossible. I think her work friends factor into this aversion as well.

I read, reflected and consulted your wife before I responded, and she told me that I'm good to go with my Carry Permit, and I agree with her that you should give up your guns.

She's probably correct, you cannot admit your mistakes, refuse responsibility when you get caught and are not mature enough to carry a weapon.

I have carried my P32 off and on for 20 years. I exchanged the slide to a hard chrome from Kel-tec for $15 if that tells you how long ago it was. I did a fluff’n buff on the little pistol and it hasn’t hickuped a time on me.
