Advice on storing and quickly accessing a daily concealed carry weapon.

Freepers, hoping for the sage advice you’ve long provided to me.

Cutting to the chase, I have a CCW and a Sig S P365 Nitron. I have a gun safe in my vehicle, as well as one in my bedroom.

The issue is, Mrs. End Times Sentinel is not at all supportive of my being armed on a daily basis. Any ideas for a subtle place that I could easily/daily access this accoutrement without making a big deal out of it? She’ll figure it out in short order, but if it becomes any sort of ordeal, as we leave the house daily, it’ll become a point of contention, and I’m no pony ride as it is.

Any ideas that don’t involve it being outside (inner city rowhouse, thus the need for CCW), or drilling a gun case/safe into her expensive/antique furniture?

Goal is a secure place, out of sight, out of Mrs. End Times Sentinel’s mind that I can quickly access. Thanks in advance!

Carry the largest caliber you can shoot comfortably is my advice to ladies but carry. 22 mag at close range wouldn’t be much fun. Mine carries model 19 short barreled S&W on a belt holster when riding in the mountains with her lady friends. She started small and worked her way up. The model 19 is loaded with 38spl, 357 mag is not on her menu. I load magnums in the mountains and light range loads for range time.

Get out of the inner-city hellhole.

You live among a low IQ savage species, expect to be armed. Let the wife deal with it on her own if she does not like your methods.

CCW = Concealed CARRY Weapons permit.

By day, in my waistband...
At night, on my nightstand with a tactical light...

It's my RIGHT, and my issuing sheriff agrees (3 states, 4 different counties).

Apparently your wife wishes not for protection by you. Thus her protection is her problem and not yours.

Protect yourself as your lady has obviously opted out of such.

REALITY IS A DOUBLE BLADED BITCH WITH A BAD ATTITUDE.

I have started using holsters for my Sig 365 and Ruger LCP that are made by a company called Sticky Holsters. These are just very basic, thin pouches for your piece, with no retention devices except the remarkably sticky non-slip fabric that they are constructed from. I was skeptical but I have been able to carry all day in sweat pants covered by a T shirt. It takes some serious force to make this material slide out of position. I don’t suppose you could run a marathon without it shifting, but while you are engaged in sedentary activities or even gentle exercise like hiking, they feel remarkably secure. Since they have no clips, belt loops, or kydex frame, just a thin layer of padded fabric, they don’t “print” on your clothing and help you maintain very deep concealment. Not expensive, either. I am sold on these devices.

Every room in the home, including the bath room(s) should have a gun in them. Caveat: if you can afford to do it ... which I can’t ...

I probably can, if that was my top priority, but there are family members that should be kept away from easily accessed firearms which is why we secure them.

“I found on Amazon Cargo Shorts that have a holster built-in that has a curved plastic exterior facing insert in the pocket that conceals the outline of the weapon placed in them.”

Got a link for those amazon shorts? Could not seem to find them among all the clutter.

Store it in the front of your underwear. She'll never find it there.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Seriously, what is her problem? Is she unsure of your abilities? I've had guns out for 51 years of my marriage. When the babies were born I put a semi-auto 1911 in a bedroom drawer without one in the chamber. I put the .357 revolver away for my wife until the kids were trained on gun safety. By the time the kid was strong enough to rack one in the chamber, they were at the range shooting with me. If she doesn't trust you with a gun, I wonder what else she doesn't trust about you?

PS, these are NOT smart aleck questions. For me this would be a deal breaker. I've got a jacket from about 9 years old with 12 Marksmen and sharpshooter patches on it and shot Expert in the Army. I can shoot a pie pan at 300 yds standing shooting off hand with open sights with an M1A today. If she doesn't trust me by now after 51 years, I don't know.

The fact of the matter is today, more than anytime in my 70 years, we need guns. Not having one within simple reach is just suicide. Big question!!!!! Is she a Democrat? The answer to that is a make or break question for me. I couldn't listen to the whining every time I put a little oil on it or reloaded.

Get a new wife.

Yeah, 30 plus years, 2 well raised kids, supporting each other through thick and thin, being madly in love, a community of relationships...

I should leave my life's partner over an issue of gun storage contention.

Really?

I'd bet the mortgage that you've never had a respectable relationship with another human of any gender.

I pray your life turns around. There is such a thing called "True Love" and my Christian Heart breaks that you've moved so long into life that you feel comfortable weighing in on the topic of marriage that, yet you've never experienced the feeling of love from the opposite sex, or, possibly your own sex.

There REALLY is love out there beyond the issue of gun storage, and perhaps this post is the blessing to make you realize that.

No thanks needed, just be a fountain, not a drain, and may God Bless your soul and Shine Into your life.

Her furniture is worth more than her (and your) life?

A very wise man once told me in marriage, pick your battles.

If I can withdraw my weapon for CCW each day and it doesn't slow her down on the way to the vehicle, and it's not prominently displayed, that's the ultimate goal.

Hey: No offense personally, but those things being advertised - the linked shelf/storage - were the absolute worst thing to ever happen, and posting it here isn’t helping. There are many derivatives of the web-based firearms storage ‘solution’. They’re all laughable. Don’t believe for a second that many criminals don’t know what they are.

I was in security and consulting for a long time, and at one time not so long ago you had to have such a thing custom built by a contractor, and no different than the little 4 words most everyone misses on the posting page, “loose lips sink ships.”

For example: When having a gun safe delivered, ensure the truck is not emblazoned with the name of the seller and ask that they camouflage the box (there are several ways of doing so which I won’t put in public forum), and never, NEVER put valuables’ packaging in the recycle at your house. Safe’s can be camouflaged in situ as well, in ways only a professional thief would ever recognize.

Firearms and high-value items pose unique challenges.

I’ve seen these ‘shelf’ & ‘coffee table’ things advertised & promoted by a local reserve officer who owns/operates his own security company; while I was on social media I berated him incessantly until he ceased their promotion.

He should damned well know better, and anyone reading this should know better than to buy that crap.

Despite my own wife’s opinions, if my weapon isn’t on me, it’s on my counter within 3 feet of me. It is impossible to breach my door without giving me ample warning. I have no children in the house.

Each individual situation is definitively unique - to state nothing of local/state laws - and it’s not possible to answer the OP’s question without another 20 or more questions and a visual assessment of the situation.

Seek out a local professional for such advice; I couldn’t offer a cogent solution in-forum and would normally not presume to do so. It’s unprofessional and potentially deadly.

...It gets hot and humid here. So, I wear Cargo Shorts most of the time...

Look up Smart Carry.

It is a groin holster. A "waist band" that really hangs from your hips with a cloth holster right in front of your package. Good comfort and concealment. It will never win a fast draw contest, but I have never been in a situation where I needed the gun in a fast draw. Every incident there has been plenty of time for a good grip and an unhurried draw.

Yup. People who do not understand firearms, fear them. Sorta like lobster. Once you get beyond the appearance, you’re hooked. 😂

Seriously, Take her to the range and get her trained by a professional.
