Update: The Peoples Convoy will be heading to the 495 beltway today, they are planning on doing 2 laps before they head back to Hagerstown as their base. There were so many vehicles that towns in a 30 mile vicinity are filled with trucks!

Drone footage of the convoy shows that there are just about 60 miles worth of trucks making their way to the Beltway. Originally the Peopleâs Convoy was going to make its way to the Capitol in DC but that plan has changed and the truckers will make their way on the DC Beltway instead.

A trucker convoy and supporters who oppose COVID-19 mandates reached Washington, D.C.'s Beltway on Sunday morning in an effort to clog traffic and urge lawmakers to lift coronavirus restrictions.
The âPeopleâs Convoyâ left from Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland at around 9:30 a.m. and began heading down a single lane of Interstate 81. The truckers planned to circle the Beltway two times before heading back to Hagerstown Speedway, according to a Facebook page for the group.

Hundreds have joined the group since they left for their cross-country journey in Adelanto, California, on Feb. 22.
NBC News reported last week that as Covid restrictions ease and the groupâs demands become less pressing, some within the group's Telegram channels have taken interest in Russiaâs invasion of Ukraine. Contingents within the groups, many QAnon supporters, have seized on a false conspiracy theory that the war is a cover for a military operation backed by former President Donald Trump in Ukraine.

It's legal to drive in circles around the DC metro area going precisely the speed limit and dutifully obeying traffic rules the entire time.
ANOTHER FUN FACT:
Trucks take up a lot of space. Trucks with trailers take up even more space. Thousands of trucks take up a WHOLE LOT OF SPACE.
ANOTHER FUN FACT:
Every truck on the roads leading into DC that is not carrying goods into DC is blocking or slowing the progression of another truck that is trying to carry goods into DC.
As long as they have gas and food, they can keep this up indefinitely.
They can bring DC to a grinding halt without ever sending one truck in. What are the police going to do, ARREST THEM FOR DRIVING ON PUBLIC ROADS? STOP EVERY TRUCK THEY SEE TO MAKE SURE IT'S ACTUALLY DELIVERING GOODS?

Update (1445ET):Â Two hours ago, the first wave of the "People's Convoy" entered the Capital Beltway encircling Washington, D.C. At the time, traffic data supplied by TomTom showed the 64-mile loop around the metro area was without congestion, but that has all changed.Â
