For an 'empowered, super-successful woman' (her words), 2020 Ms Great Britain April Banbury can be rather daft when it comes to men.
She's met goodness knows how many online in the past few years, dated 'more than 100' of them and slept with 'the ones I felt I might have a connection with potentially'. Then . . .
'They just ghost me,' she says with a look that's part fury, part hurt on her very pretty face.

I haven't heard "I get the ring you get my thing" in quite a while.
Great post.
Kindness is priceless.
It can even be learned.
My wife likes Hallmark Christmas movies. I made the mistake of calling them “cat lady porn.”
I like the expression. I think I’ll update the tagline page

Men would rather date the successful woman’s secretary.
This is what happened with the billionaire Carl Icahn.
He needed a woman/later wife he could trust.
He married an employee of the firm after he had known her as a friend for years, later an employee for many more years.
Trust is earned and can’t be rushed.
(They are still married, btw, and it has been decades....the strategy worked.)
How sad for you. I have dozens of girl friends, many I have known decades - some single, some married some widowed - and all are beautiful, loving and giving- both inside and out.
I hope you will one day come across someone who will bring a light of beauty into your life.
When I was much younger, I had the misfortune of being involved with an abusive man who lied about being employed. He almost caused me to be bankrupt but after he punched yet another hole in the wall over my shoulder, I managed to get away and had to relocate to hide from him. I don’t judge everyone by his actions.
I do wish you well.
Ready, set, go, bitter FReeper men! It's the woman's fault. Always. Forever. Regardless of the situation. Serves them right! Rinse and repeat.
She: What kind of woman do you think I am?
He: We’ve already established that. Now we’re just haggling over the price.
All my single friends watch those Hallmark movies. Maybe it’s not coincidence.
Oh, I was waiting for this one! Surprise, surprise, I didn't have to wait long. Forget American women. While you're at it, forget European women. Go with Asian women, boys (and I do mean boys,). They'll treat you right.
He stole that from an Abbot and Costello skit:
Costello: When I get married, I'm going to marry a plain girl.
Abbot: Why?
Costello: If I marry a pretty girl, she might leave me.
Abbot: But a plain girl might leave you too!
Costello: Yeah, but who cares?

Because she deserves that as a minimum, just ask her.
+1
I’m not saying not to, or you can’t, date a successful woman.
What I am saying is that since success in a man is HIGHLY salient to ALL women, SUCCESSFUL women greatly OVERESTIMATE how much it makes them a “hot prospect”.
When they find out that it matters not at all, most of them take it personally.
No hymen, no diamond.
If a girl “dates up” too high, she can get a guy who is content to date her for as long as she provides "no strings" sex, but can easily replace her if she becomes too insistent on commitment.
A girl looking for commitment, needs to find a guy who wants her so much that he will commit rather than allow her to walk off.
Stop projecting.
“6 feet tall, six pack abs, six figure income.
Because she deserves that as a minimum, just ask her.”
Of course the guy could use her as a punching bag, steal her money, break her heart—but, as you say:
“She deserves that...”
;-)
From your screen name and postings, I'm guessing you're a divorce lawyer who mainly represents women.
I've known several divorced men, and generally it's the wife who seeks divorce so she can "trade up" (and very often her ambitions are not up to reality) or just wants to "cash out" of the relationship.
