One of my kids sent me this video. It purports that there are many (dozens? hundreds?) of historical accounts/reports of giants, tribes or giants, encounters with giants, etc.
The video seems to be well made and plausible. However, I remain skeptical. Supposedly many of the giant skeletal remains made their way to the Smithsonian. There are plenty of snopes articles debunking stories of this sort, but who knows what to believe from snopes?
Like any other topic of this sort their are supporters & detractors. The trick of course is sorting through the BS.
Before I dig further into this, I'm curious if any skeptical Freepers have gone down this particular rabbit hole...
Anything from the “ancient Aliens” crowd is all foil hat horseshit. Not becuase I can’t or won’t beleive it, but because I have watched their evidence, reasoning and conclusions. They are hucksters who don’t know or don’t care about how to do research and present facts within the bounds of accepted logic and reasoning.
I would also add LA Marzulli, Thomas Horn, and Timothy Alberino.
Interestingly enough, they (gubmit) half-way admit something went down at Lovelock Caves in Nevada.
Apparently natives tired of getting harassed, killed, kidnapped by Nephilim or Giants all got together and trapped a bunch of them in these caves and smoked them out killing them.
Large hairy skeletons were found among other artifacts.
I agree that the vast majority of it is silly. But they did use Old Testament and other ancient writings as part of their conjecture which I find entertaining, like I do other sci-fi.
Six fingers and toes do not a Nephilum make. I have read, fifty five years ago, that Ann Boleyn, mother of Queen Elizabeth, was said to have had six fingers on one hand.
The people of Cervera de Buitrago in Spain often have the six fingers.
Same for the Da Silva family from Brazil.

Thank you. If I am not mistaken, Michael Heiser has information on it. When I saw Amir Tsarfati in Davao City, even he had an hour long segment on the Nephilim. Of course, I had heard it all before. 🤔
I understand that. In fact I knew a kid in 4th grade that had six toes. He was not a giant. But it is typical of Giants. Both the pictures of skeletons, as well as ancient descriptions.
Heiser goes real deep into it.
Most people can’t absorb the amount of details he lays out. I had to listen to him twice to take it all in. The dude is a genius.

I ended up doing extensive investigation to this, while our idiot Democrat Governor was trying to destroy small businesses.
Check out Michael S. Heiser. He had published several books, most of which are targeted at Theology PhD Candidates. One that is designed for lay people is Super Natural.
The Nephilim are the result of something that occurred in Genesis 6:1-4...where the Sons of God notice that the daughters of men are beautiful and decide to marry and make children with them.
This is where Hebrew comes in. Elohim (singular) is recognized as YHWH. Elohim (plural) also appears in the Bible, and this is one instance. Call these lesser gods or spiritual beings.
There are lots of YouTube videos of Heiser explaining different aspects of the Spiritual Realm. His ‘aha!’ moment came when a fellow PhD student handed him a Hebrew version of the Bible open to Psalm 82...where Singular Elohim was standing in the midst of (plural) elohim...and reading them the riot act. He had read this passage at least 5 times before, but apparently not in Hebrew.
Amir Tsarfati is a Messianic Jew who lives in Israel. He states that one of the nice things about Hebrew, as opposed to say...English, is that they do NOT have many words to describe the same object.
The first time I encountered Heiser was when I had watched a video on the Nephilim, and then YouTube suggested several others...including Heiser’s.
If you want to cut to the chase, watch his video on the Nephilim, and then branch out to his other videos/books.
But for his insights, I would still be an Agnostic, thinking that parts of the Bible made no sense at all.
I met him in the Philippines, a few years ago. I got my picture taken with him.
webheart here reminds me of my idiot father who was violently convinced that most stars the the universe (galaxy) were no bigger that a baseball. Violently convinced! To the point of making an utter fool of himself in public over it. He was also convinced that every star visible at night from his location in in the northern hemisphere (I guess) were the only stars in the entire universe.
There’s another genius on this thread that claims every account of the Nephilim throughout history, going back many thousands of years, is because of newspaper editors playing pranks on their readers. LOL

I looked at the Paul Bunyan statue in Minnesota. It’s not the same as the one you posted. It’s hard to see, but it appears that the one you showed, was in California. 😀😄
He found several skeletons that averaged between 8-11 feet tall on that island. There are pictures of Ralph Glidden posing with these giant skeletons

From Steve Quayle and Tim Alberino’s research, Nephilim are the one that were 25-50 feet tall and the Raphaeim were between 8-16 feet tall. The Nephilim are the direct descendants of the Fallen Angels and the Raphaeim are related but more “watered down”. Goliath of Gath was a Raphaeim Giant.
According to Quayle, demons are the disembodied spirits of Giants.

There are supposed to be Nephs in the caves of Afghanistan. Supposedly one wiped out a US army patrol a few years ago. The army sent a unit out searching for the patrol and the giant attacked them. They riddled it with automatic fire and killed it then the CIA came in with a Blackhawk and took the body away. Good story but I don’t know if its true.
