"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.

Epic indeed! I hope that’s a real response. I have no doubt that the government asked them for the information.
Someone sent me a tweet that a Canadian posted. The tweet stated the poster had stayed on hold for 2 hours waiting for the Secretary of the Governor General yesterday, and when contact with a human was finally made, she was told that the GG needs emails expressing non-confidence in trudeau from 900,000 Canadians. I sent mine on Thursday, not knowing this number, and already have my circle getting busy. And they’re passing it to their circles.
I can sort of understand why people don’t typically get involved in politics. It’s a heck of a lot of work! But since trudeau has prevented me from travelling, I have time on my hands. He may wish he hadn’t given all of us so much free time to pay attention to his crappy governance.

Given the J6 US cop brutality and bligerance, the Antifa tactics, and framing of citizens, I confess I’ve been surprised by the few arrests and the police comraderie with truckers and protestors, over the course of these three weeks in Canada.
Only a handful of abuses were suffered at the hands of individual thug-cops, considering the astonishing number of trucks and huge street crowd at intersections throughout Ottawa. A miracle.
The bad cops filmed roughing up elders and caught axting mostly women really hurt the Canadian government as well as the police, and actually added support to truckers and citizen supporters.
This weekend, however, the use of horses was a shame, an abuse of the animal, and totally Unnecessary for crowd control was pretty outrageous! I noticed reports that the horses were actually removed from that scene of action immediately thereafter. Someone put a full quick Stop to that display of power and stupidity.
This coming week is more anxious. Prayers continue.
I’m a bit more idealistic about the role of the Governor General. She does represent the Queen and is appointed on the advice of the Prime MInister, but I don’t think she answers to the PM. That position has largely been ceremonial and apolitical in the past, but I think that was mostly because we didn’t have anything to complain about. Now that we do, her role is to act within the principles of parliamentary democracy and responsible government. She serves as a guarantor of continuous and STABLE (emphasis mine) governance and as a nonpartisan safeguard against the abuse of power.
The Earl of Dufferin stated that the Governor General is “A representative of all that is august, stable, and sedate in the government, the history, and the traditions of the country; incapable of partizanship (sic), and lifted far above the atmosphere of faction; without adherents to reward or opponents to oust from office; docile to the suggestions of his Ministers, and yet securing to the people the certainty of being able to get rid of an Administration or Parliament the moment either had forfeited their confidence.”[
I hope all of that is true or free Canada ends. I trust the GG to take her role seriously and to protect Canadians’ Charter rights if enough of us say they’ve been violated.

You’re more right than you know about the housekeeping part of dropping/weighing anchor. First, the windlass does the work of dropping. It’s necessary to throttle the payout or the guides just get too hot, smoke, burn, melt paint. The bitter end is anchored but on modern ships there is a shock coupling that takes the “bang” out of a dead stop.
Reeling the thing back in is the housekeeping part. Nobody wants ground coral, mud, sea growth back aboard, because it stinks, so a fire hose is played on the incoming chain.
But Naval ships don’t drop anchor all that often so they want clean chain back in the locker. A couple of sailors with big paint brushes stand by to touch up the scraped paint on the chain as it comes back aboard. Don’t want rusty chain in the locker either. Except on submarines-—there’s no ready access to the chain locker on a sub.
Someplace around the yard I still have a link of anchor chain I salvaged from a dive I did some decades ago. That link must have 30 coats of paint on it. If a sailor tells you that he worked anchor just give him a hug-—he earned it.

Hard to know. BUT . . . I certainly wouldn't be surprised. Various sites state that the thugs "couldn't speak English". I'm wondering if the truth might be that the thugs WOULDN'T speak English.
