Across America, teachers are going to war against students
American Thinker ^ | 9 Feb, 2022 | Andrea Widburg

If there’s one good thing that’s emerged from COVID madness, it’s learning that many of America’s teachers hate not just America, but also their students.

The Democrat establishment, recognizing that Americans have had it with masks (especially as studies show that they don’t work), is pulling back from mask mandates. However, America’s teachers are not ready to let their students—whom they clearly consider dangerous little vermin—return to class maskless. Doing so might allow them to spew their child germs on those people whom state and local governments believe are fit people to oversee America’s up-and-coming generations.

Suddenly, four strong Democrat-run states are abandoning school mask mandates. AP reports that the governors in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, and Oregon are lifting the mask mandates, whether by the end of February or sometime in March.

Meanwhile, CNN’s resident Marxist doctor, Leana Wen (who once led Planned Parenthood, so you know how much she cares about children), suddenly announced that “the science has changed,” and children should no longer wear masks. In case you were wondering, conservatives have known about this changed science for at least a year now. What’s changed is the political scene.

The message that either the politics or the science has changed hasn’t yet reached America’s teachers. The Libs of Tik Tok account on Twitter has released this astonishing thread about the punitive measures Chicago teachers are taking now that a ruling has made masks optional. For your convenience, when images cannot be seen without clicking on the tweet, I’ve embedded them immediately after the tweet in which they appear:

I am not sure I blame the teachers. These days students are unruly, undisciplined, unmotivated and difficult. In all honesty, who wouldn’t look for an excuse to get away from that! Witness the high percentage of those who leave “teaching” for something easier and more lucrative (as my wife, one of our daughters and I did).

Jim, I feel sorry for you and I am simply overwhelmed by your ignorance. Jim, teacher's unions are basically made of teachers. Without teachers Jim, of which you were one, there is no union. Don't blame the students Jim. You taught them!!! On your exit from teaching Jim, that is probably a good thing. But just remember, you can run but you cannot hide.

You make many valid points. Truth is, this education “horror” has been years in the making. Humanists have controlled state education practices and policies for decades and parents have NOT been as involved as they should have been. I was apalled at the direction things were going and said so. (Soundly rebuked by the powers that be as well as persecuted by the same powers as well.) As a result, I was pretty much ready to retire early and did just that. I forfitted much of my social security because of WPA. Texas is one of those states who allowed it to happen to it’s teachers. I live on less than $1800 a month. Without a sizeable inheritance from my parents I would live in poverty. Texas is a “right to work” state and so there are no teacher’s unions. Honor dictates that when you are employed by contract you will follow the teaching curriculum. You don’t hear much from those teachers in states where this is the case but it would be a mistake to assume that all teachers hate the children they reach.

The teachers are hurting children. Exactly the opposite of what they should be doing. Long overdue to blow up the public school system, it’s failed us.

It really is the basis for America to thrive.

Why do conservatives STILL support the system that opposes them the most?

Why do they put the most conservative candidate bumper stickerS on their cars, go to church on Sunday, pull the lever for the most conservative candidate possible, but Mon-Fri 8-3, have their kids indoctrinated against them and all freedoms? Why do they do this and then scratch their heads and then think we just need to “get the right person in office” to save our country???

You want to save the country???

Sacrifice and invest in your children FIRST.

Hey Nathan,

Good to see your commentary and your trademark oval of Nathan Bedford Forrest.

I do believe you are right about the bottoms-up importance of the classroom.

This thought reminds me of Will Durant's analysis of Confucius in the book "Our Oriental Heritage":

If a teacher is fortunate enough to have a COC (child-of-color) in their classroom then it is the equivalent of having a Sacred Cow visit the rug on the ground that is your business - your enterprise is destroyed.

One dare not correct or complain about the cow.

Decades ago when business and the professions were not for young women, good bright ones sought to be teachers. Today with all professions open to women, the least bright and ambitious go into teaching. Lots of unhappy, frustrated, bitter teachers. In other words, leftists.
