Interesting weekend at the mall. I was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, minding my own business. Then a loud yell: “Hey, it’s Pat Sajak!” Then lots of pictures and autographs. Had to leave without finishing my shopping. I’m almost sorry I yelled.
I'll keep reading that, every time I see news like this....

The Pentagon is slated to host an event on Wednesday making "the case for global justice and democratic socialism" as a means to combat China’s rise, sparking ire on Capitol Hill.
The event, titled, "Responding to China: The Case for Global Justice and Democratic Socialism," is being hosted by the Institute for National Strategic Studies, a department of the National Defense University, the Pentagon’s top policy shop. The event is open to the public and will be held on the Pentagon’s Strategic Multilayer Assessment platform, a Defense Department initiative that studies global challenges, according to an invitation for the event posted online.
Featured speaker Thomas Piketty, a French economist, "will argue that the right answer" to addressing China’s rise "lies in ending Western arrogance and promoting a new emancipatory and egalitarian horizon on a global scale, a new form of democratic and participatory, ecological and post-colonial socialism," according to the event invitation. "If they stick to their usual lecturing posture and a dated hyper-capitalist model, Western countries may find it extremely difficult to meet the Chinese challenge." Piketty is the author of the book Time for Socialism.
Looks like the Ottawa police are now clearing out the trucks.

He had been playing music and about 40 police surrounded him and they tore out his equipment basically and probably was going to arrest him, but right at that time one of the walking LIVE people came and was filming it so they backed off. At least for now.

I’ve been in and out of the thread so much with my travels and my lack of having service at my sons, that I’ve missed a lot. if you were the one with the broken ribs are they doing better now? Usually it takes 6 to 8 weeks for them to heal and the pain to subside

The the police went back to their cars and have been sitting there just watching. There are two LIVE walking guys now talking with the Truck driver now so maybe that is why the police are just waiting. I am trying to stay up long enough to see what happens.

Dolly don’t feel bad about tagging me and I can understand why you might have thought it was me. I was conversing about it and saying whoever it was (I am not even sure if it was Cotton) not to bind the ribs up because you could get pneumonia.
Wow! the police have all come back out of their vehicles and surrounded him again. Not sure if giving a ticket or going to arrest.
They finally issued him a ticket for $1130 for noise complaint. Now they are leaving.
I should have saved it.
Under the table rumor ..Supposedly Sloley resigned because Trudeau took over the Ottawa PD.
Sloley has a diversity, equity and inclusion back ground. It’s in part why he was hired.
