The realities of socialism should be taught in high schools by people who have lived under it and fled here

There is no shortage of people in the United States who experienced the horrors of socialism firsthand.

Right now, socialists who have never experienced the harsh realities of what socialism brings to humanity every time it is implemented are using American schools, including high schools, to preach socialist propaganda. The propaganda never shows the reality of the failure and treat it as if the failures were never real socialism to begin with.

But there is no shortage of people in the United States who experienced the horrors of socialism firsthand. They are the ones who escaped the promised paradises turned dystopian societies ruled by an elite few who never have to worry about starvation and shortages of anything.

These refugees who are already in the United States, real refugees from brutal governments, are a vast resource of information on the realities that come from implementing socialism. They are the result of the truth that the promised propaganda never delivers anywhere. These people know the truth and have suffered tremendously because of it.

The refugees come from all walks of life and experienced socialism throughout the world. They are the evidence of the failure that always comes from implementing socialism. These are the people who should be teaching socialism in every high school in the United States. It should not be those who never experienced the brutality, but those who have. Let American students hear the truth about socialism from those who actually lived under it.

Socialism should not be ignored as a subject. Those who suffered have real stories about what they experienced that should be shared as a warning to those who call for it in America. Let American students hear the truth, not the propaganda.

The socialists in the USA should be sent to live for a year in North Korea. If they can make it back then we can have a discussion about what they can teach.

But it will work out much better “next time” because we have “better people” who will make up the “political elite” the next time a dictatorship is imposed upon the people.

Yes! Great point.

How did we go from Reagan’s characterization of the USSR as the evil empire to where we are now? (Rhetorical. We all know)

Putin is much further to the right than many of those in American government, media, and ‘education’ right now.

Every wokester dreams of being a comissar, maybe even the official censor or the head of the secret police! The idiots don’t imagine that most of them will be worked to death in fields or mines.

At the very least, socialism should be taught in public schools by teachers who are traitors to the United States of America.

Years ago a buddy of mine was a high school teacher who taught history. If a student wore a ‘Che’ shirt he would have the student stand before the class and read a column written by Humberto Fantova, a staunch anti-Castro Cuban. The article discussed Che’s racism, anti gay, his use of murder as a weapon and in general what a horrible person he was.

my friend said it usually only happened once a semester and almost never with the same kid twice.

The Biden Mis-Administration has halted allowing Venezuelans to legally migrate to the United States...due to the fact that they will NEVER support the Democratic Socialist Party if they become citizens and they will teach the horrors of socialism to others.

Of course, no matter how terrible the stories of life under one form of socialism or another, true believers will always counter with something like : they made mistakes and we will do a better job.

Since critical thinking was outlawed in schools because its harmful to criticize, the kids will believe every word of the socialist reply.

How can that be done when every administrator, every principal, and 95% of teachers are sympathetic to collectivist policies?

My dad was a Marine officer during the Vietnam war. Over the years, I met and befriended people who either fought the Communists or had to flee from them.

I was raised to understand how hideous Communism was.

My own kids were never around these people. They still think "Socialism" is a good idea, if only tried by better people.

"socialists who have never experienced the harsh realities of what socialism brings to humanity every time it is implemented are using American schools, including high schools, to preach socialist propaganda."

Couldn't that be considered subversion.? Or maybe outright treason?

"Therefore, because the Constitution describes several methods by which it can be legally changed or replaced, any attempt to change or replace it outside of that described process is — by definition — an illegal act known as subversion, which, if committed by a citizen of any State, is also defined as treason."

There should be a whole bunch of those, as they call themselves, "teachers" in the can.....

It has been said that if 99% of the world's nations went full bore socialist with the exception of one island nation that clung to free markets, the failures of socialism would be blamed on the capitalist island.

There is truth to that. Many criticize capitalism as being based on greed. Nobody ever links socialism with envy, but that is what it is. Socialism as about surrendering personal (and collective) liberty in order to avoid taking any personal (or collective) responsibility. It's all about blaming a nebulous oppressive "other," but when the problems persist, that, "other," needs to be given a name, and once named, destroyed.

It truly is an insidious, demonic mindset.

I have a friend who grew up in communist Poland. She still has family there and goes back to visit. She told me her youngest brother was fortunate to have grown up in the post-communist version of the country.
When we were talking about the 2020 election- she said she absolutely refuses to believe that 81,000,000 were dumb enough to vote for Biden.

"Socialism as about surrendering personal (and collective) liberty in order to avoid taking any personal (or collective) responsibility."

Thanks for that.. It would seem that there are a whole lot of folks in this nation living the "Socialist dream" off the hard work and the commitment of others.. I guess that's why "THEY" think it's so wonderful..

Sometimes you get the feeling their getting ready to kill the mule.. That's when they'll find out what Socialism is all about..

You’ll run into trouble there. Schools don’t seem to want actual subject matter experts clogging up the works.

...socialism should be taught in public schools by teachers who are traitors to the United States of America.

The traitors are already doing the teaching. I think maybe you meant: "...socialism should be taught in public schools by teachers who are [not] traitors to the United States of America.
