He was one of the best. I enjoyed his music. In and Out Of Hell a documentary on his life:

...but the musicians on it were from band favorites of mine at the time.

I got Todd Rundgren's autograph on my Bat Out Of Hell vinyl album.

I’m surprised he gives autographs. Was it recently?

I had Jensen speakers in my 1975 GMC pickup. I built wooden boxes that could fit behind my seat in the cab. However, they had long enough speaker cables on them so you could put them on top of the roof.

This came in handy when you went to the drive in during the summer. I would pull in backwards. Then we would sit in the back on the truck on lawn chairs with a cooler for beer and a footrest.

Totally different personalities and backgrounds, but I always thought of Meatloaf and Freddie Mercury as two absolute masters of engaging their audience. The didn’t just get on stage and sing for the crowd. They were both grandly theatrical and made the crowd believe they were an important and integral part of the show.

I had Jensen speakers in my 1975

Didn't we all. My friend just had them installed and made me sit in his mustang to listen to Edgar Winter's Frankenstein stereo effects.

When my mom passed a couple years back my Panasonic 8 track/AM/FM Stereo 10watt/channel with Thrusters Speakers was still in the basement.
The shoe box on top was full of 8 track tapes including Meatloaf.

I plugged in the stereo to show my son. The radio still worked. But the 8 track just made a humming sound.
The stereo now sits on the bench in my garage. The speakers are mounted on the garage walls. Long live rock.

There is a pretty amazing account out there of his actions outside the Dallas hospital the day JFK was shot.

I'm interested. Do you have a link for that?

💔😭 Still.
At work,, but listening to saved copy of Bat out of Hell album and reminiscing old pics on net.

Shared the horrible news with a friend at work. He didn’t know who Meatloaf was!😳

My brother, God rest his soul, loved him too. I like to think he is meeting him now.

I’m dating myself - but does anyone remember a 1980 movie named “Roadie”? Meatloaf was in it. He played Travis W Redfish, a good ‘ol Texas boy.

Actually we had an old car seat that we would put into the back of the pickup too. That was more comfortable than the old lawn chairs. Then the people in the lawn chairs would sit in them on them ground.

I can’t speak for MeatLoaf, but his drummer John goes to my church. And John’s wife is a Sunday school teacher.

He’d done a few interviews recently - Mike Huckabee and John Rich. It seemed like he was trying to get back into the public eye.

You reminded me of a recent interview he did with Mike Huckabee. I did a search and found it here. Amazing!
