The devices—developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX—have a warming feature to prevent snow built up from disrupting the signal
“Starlink works great until the cats find out that the dish gives off a little heat on cold days,”
For those concerned about cats outside in cold weather, Taylor clarifies they do have access to heated cat house. But even when temperatures reached minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit, the kitties still used the satellite dish as a $500 cat bed. “When the sun goes down, they head back to their house,”

Looks like my Charlie! Acts like him too!
Kitteh knows a good thing when kitteh sees it.
I thought those typos were on account of you. Those kittehs type bad but have really good minds. lol
I'd like to report some cats that have been Cat-Naped!!!
Cats are smart that way, probably mice creep up to get warm.
Breakfast in bed for kitties.
In colonial times, cats would warm themselves by staying near the hearth. Now in the 21st century , they cozy up to the StarLink dish.
I don’t need to read the article - I already know my cat’s ‘self-heating’ bed.
It’s ME.
(much to my great loss of sleep.)
Put that many cats together on a cookie sheet and it will warm them
One of my three began refusing to come inside. As the weather turned cold I decided to take styrofoam cooler that came from Omaha Steaks a while back and make a shelter with a heating pad set on lowest setting, so he would have a source of shelter. Went to the door one night and a raccoon came running out of the shelter! The cat decided that very night to start com,ing in at night. Now he sleeps on my bed and as a big heat weight, he is becoming a nuisance ... but I love him and just move him away from m,y pillow.
Our kitteh tribe is strictly indoors. We’ve lost too many over the years to owls and coyotes. All three of them pile on the bed with us. We usually have to move them around to reclaim enough real estate for ourselves.
I’m in my late sister’s enormous farmhouse. It can cost as much as 800.00/mo to heat this whole place so I just heat one large bedroom upstairs with a space heater and stay there.
The old family cat hates the chilly house and was scratching at my door so I just lately started letting her in to sleep.
She’s now a permanent fixture on my bed...lol
Somehow it is comforting to have her sleep on the bed though, I don’t mind it.
That they are.
I had no idea that I had shrews until when we moved to the lake. Shrews are like mice. Keechi (RIP) and Oksana (darling one) tore them up.
I had never seen one until the cats killed some. Amazing. And moles too.
Were the trophies deposited on in front of your patio door?
I LOVE my cats!!! Smarter than most humans...
Heh, and just this morning as the sun comes up the local bobcat saunters through on the prowl.
It was sniffing the big permanent brush pile aka bird and critter condo. The buffet is closed, no nibbles for you!
“I LOVE my cats!!! Smarter than most humans...”
You must have heard the old saying, “Dogs have owners, cats have a staff.” Yes, they are smarter.
