The wide receiver left following an outburst on the sideline
Antonio Brown has left the building.
In one of the strangest moments of the NFL season, the Buccaneers wide receiver abruptly removed his shoulder pads and undershirt and jogged to the locker room at MetLife Stadium during the third quarter of Tampa Bay's Week 17 matchup with the New York Jets.
Here's video of the scene, which shows Brown stripping off his pads, throwing his undershirt and gloves into the stands, and running toward the locker room in the middle of the game while the Bucs were on offense.
Brown, who had three catches for 26 yards on five targets at the time, apparently "boiled over" and was "very upset" on the sideline, according to FOX sideline reporter Jen Hale.
Hale reported that Mike Evans and O.J. Howard tried to convince Brown to keep his shoulder pads on before he made his sudden exit. Here's another angle of the incident filmed by a fan in the stands.
It appears head coach Bruce Arians benched Brown, which led to the former New England Patriots wide receiver's outburst.
We'll update this article with more information as it becomes available.
VIDEO Antonio Brown leaving the field after taking off his jersey and shirt and throwing it into the stands.
I saw Brady led his team on a 93-yard game winning TD drive late.
The fact that Tomlin got multiple all pro seasons out of Brown shows he’s clearly a great coach. What a discipline case. I’m betting when he dies (probably young) they find CTE. He better hope so, cause if not he’s just a jerk.
I think this fits with bipolar more than CTE.
We’ll see how Brady handles this, I think that’s one of Brady’s strengths is how he handles teammates. This may be a pretty tough nut to crack, though.
I wonder if they will play him again or cut him loose. He’s obviously has some Mental issues.
joe burrow got his name ripped off his jersey and still came out and beat Mahomes.
This is tough. I mean last year Arians said zero tolerance. Brown got suspended this year but Arians let him back. This should be a bye-bye BUT 2nd to last week of the season. Do you cut your nose off to spite your face? Or keep a guy that’s getting more psycho and hope he doesn’t flake out in the playoffs?

Brady led the team to a game winning drive at the end so looked like it didn’t even phase him.......Antonio brown however.....
I wouldn’t let him fly back with the team that’s for sure........crazy is contagious!!!!
Well whatever it is needs to be nipped in the bud before the playoffs.
he was a short way from earning a big bonus in three areas. maybe they were about to bench him and it hacked him off.
The one thing that leads me to CTE is he seems to be getting worse and worse. Bipolar isn’t a degenerative problem. But not treated properly it does lead to a lot of random. I don’t know. Just glad he’s not a Steeler anymore.
Brain damaged
Word is they had benched him. But there’s another week to get your bonuses. But that’s always been a Brown thing. I remember him as a Steeler being grumpy about bad stats in a win. He’s not very long view.
Oop, Arians cut him.
Tampa bay just fired him
Histrionics much?
Tom Brady seems to have yielded to Mac Jones in some form or another.
I was waiting to see him throwing his shoes and socks into the stands. A large shoe is likely to boomerang.
Is it legal to fire someone because of a mental handicap?
